Support SB 430: No net loss of Hunting Lands

Senator,

The Hunter-conservationist has for the last 100 years led the fight to preserve land for wildlife habitat and for future generations of sportsmen. One of the prime motivation for this conservation effort was to provide for hunting and other recreational activities.

From Ducks Unlimited protecting wetlands for all wildlife, to the Wild Turkey Federation restoring the turkey, to Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation who reintroduced elk to their native ranges, to the Airboat/Buggy sportsmen of South Florida, who in the 1950s formed the first conservation clubs in Florida to conserve the Big Cypress Preserve for traditional and cultural uses, these hunters have a very long and active history of action for habitat conservation.

Over the last few decades, well funded anti-hunting, anti-use Environmental groups have dominated the discussions and direction of our natural resources, much to the detriment of the resources they profess to protect and to the detriment of the sportsmen and reasonable public access.

Please support this bill! If we continue to lose hunters, who will be left to lead the fight to protect and conserve our resources with sound science?

Thank you,

Captain Phil Walters
