SW Georgia Riding

Regretfully, I had to cancel my reservation at wingates due to problems at work. Business has been really slow with the recent decline in construction and home sales. One of my drivers is out of town and I need to take care of one of the few customers I have left. I was really looking forward to this run and hope to get up there soon as things pick back up. Hope Y' all have a great ride and please post plenty of pics.

Dave

Work is preventing me from making the ride as well. Maybe Dave and us others that can't make it on this trip can do a make up trip at a later date. :D

I'll be there around 11 AM in the morning at Winggates. Ya'll don't blow all of the water out of the pond before I get there

I had a blast saturday, good bunch of folks. Sure hated to miss the Sunday ride but I'll be back  Thanks everybody.

Grandson and I really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to those who gave us a hand when we got stuck trying to run the hill. I would have liked to have done some visiting, but four year old grandson and two dogs kept me busy. We look forward to doing it again. Gerry Chancey

Anytime, nice chatting with you 8)

I'm so sorry to miss the ride this past weekend. I was loading up Saturday morning and slipped and fell out of my boat onto the driveway.

I don't bounce as well as I used to. Nothing broken evidently, but I'm moving very slowly the last couple of days.
Anyway, I hope everyone had a great weekend and I'll try not to be so stupid the next time.

Please post pictures if you have some.

Ok Olf Art, we thought we were really gonna have to call you an "Olf Art" for sure.Sorry you missed the trip and so sorry you busted your "Olf Art" hope you are ok.To everyone that made the trip we had a great time. And to all of those that made it and somehow we missed meeting you we are so sorry for that. For some reason we all did not hook up on Sat.morning and the one's that stayed over at Big Jim's said it was "Olf Art's" fault because they were waiting on him and didn't want to leave him but low and behold they din't know he was falling around like and "Olf Art" and bustin his pattutie.!! Sorry Olf could not help myself again.I for one did not get to meet all of those that showed up because next to Airboating I was doing my thing and that was out Turkey Hunting.Paul said somebody's gotta bring home the bacon.!!Lucky me got one on Sat. morning and two on Sunday morning. One for my brother in law and another for me.I had the best of both worlds I got to turkey hunt and ride the boat later in the day.So for those of you who were not able to make the trip,Please try again. For the one's that did we really met some great folks.I think they had a great time and rode in some very different waters.Paul said we need to make this at least an annual outing. We appreciate all that were able to make it and that we know of no one had any trouble,we think there were at least 45 boats or that's where we stopped counting anyway. Please come back again. Olf Art, Paul said he has a pair of crutches behind the door somewhere, want me to send them to you.!!! Hey I gotta pick on somebody and right now your it.haha. Paul and Carol

Gotta say this....we made the road trip and rode all day Saturday with BobWhite and Limey Chris...saw A1Mudpuppy twice and saw dozens of airboats...met DanTheAirboatMan and others....never caught up with the Dixon Bunch....But, Man!!!!That Place Is Beautiful.

Lots of GIANT gators...Big Lake Seminole is scary with snags, logs and other getchas...but the back country is breath taking and looks a ton like Lake Hernando and Inverness / Floral City....except, the trees are 50 foot tall pines instead of oaks.

Those Seminole Airboats are works of art...that work like airboats are supposed to. No question about it...the Dixons are PROFESSIONAL airboat builders.

We'll be back.

We were very impressed with southern hospitality extended to us the whole time.It started on fri. when we needed a rudder rod fixed after hours and Paul and Keven jumped right on it and refused money. Deer Power and his wife then took us to their house so we could do some tuning and sold us avgas at cost. wicth is a lot cheaper than fl. they looked after us the whole time and made sure we had every thing we needed.Dear power stayed at big jims and got them to open the restaurant Early on sunday morning for breakfast!WE got to do every kind of riding you could think of. From picking your way through pine forest to gradually winding water ways. Lake Seminole was very clean with pretty land scape's On Sunday we rode way up the withlacuche and taking side runs on the way through thick switch back cat tail trails. Paul was always at the back and him and Ms Carol made sure nobody was left behind and stopped to fix another one of our boats on the way back. Thanks again! You don't realize how much southern hospitality has been diluted out of our area until you get around it again.I burned 75 gallons of alcohol on Sat. but had a blast and gave some rides. Met big Daddy Jrstults Red Dwarf Nothing to loose and many more cool people! Air boats unlimited builds some fine boats .They have one off color schemes and the boat i rode on would jump and was a smooth operator 8) Thanks again Ms Carol for starting and organizing this whole thing. If ya'll can put up with us we would love to come back. :)

Can't believe I sold my little piece of property up there recently. It was right on a canal leading to the lake. Oh well, hard to make it there from south FL. By the way, Paul and Carol, do you know Amy Vince from south Florida. I work with her and she was headed up this week to do some airboating with friends. Thought it might be you guys???

Hey Muddyduck.we don't know her but we might now.Do they have a big beautiful Yellow boat built by Diamonback?? If so we know her now.I lost so many peoples names because we met so many but there was a couple with their son (I think) and they were camped at Wingates and we told them to hook up with us and come on and ride,so they did.that may have been them not sure.If it's that boat then it was and they had a great ride with us.Hope it was.You should have kept that property.!!! But I know how it is,all of our people live in Central Fla and it's hard enough for us to get down there.Carol

BigDaddy I don't know how in the world we missed hooking up.Didn't you stay with Herb Brown?? If so he should have come on down to the camp.Yeah we should have come on down there as well but there were so many of us.Sooooooooooooooooo sorry we did not get to meet up with ya'll .I guess there were a lot of people that we din't get to meet.I GAVE EVERYBODY OUR PHONE NUMBERS.haha.Come on back we need to do this again, and again. Thanks for the kind words about our boats,Paul takes a lot of pride in what he does.Gotta love it to do what he does.Guess it din't take long to figure out he builds strickly "ride boats".been there done that thang with the race boats. But he'll still give ya a run for ya money.!! Gerry so sorry I din't get to ride with you on Sat.but I had priorities and they just took over.!! It's called Turkey Hunting.Very sorry to hear about your mother in law, give our best to Connie and her family.Maybe you can get back up here again sure do hope so.We had a great time.Ms Carol

We had a great time. I only wish it could have lasted longer and we could have met everyone. Gotta do it again. There is so much there to see. We rode three days and only touched a tip of the "ice cube".

Every time we stopped the first thing said was---where's Olf Art??? Sorry you missed it --- glad you're OK. Hope to see you on the next one.

A few of us rode some "tight" trails before Big Jim's Sat. Henry led and it was great till we met a another boat. Luckily we were able to squeeze by. Henry and Mud Puppy impressed me with their driving skills and I got through with my usual "dumb luck". Later, Cracker Style demonstrated a " Dukes of Hazzard" move on what he said was a stump (I didn't see any stumps!). Oh yeah, Red Dwarf (really nice guy) is actually "red" . Or at least he was after all that sun.

Thanks everyone for a great ride.
