Had a great time today, although it got a little soggy.Put faces to a lot of names, a bunch of real nice folks. Worked the SA booth with Rick, Theresa and Dakota they are the greatest fun people to hang with , made my day a BIG fun day and that also goes for Chis and Dave. THANKS Y'ALL
Dudley

Dudley, I enjoyed meeting you today. Sorry we didn't get a chance to just sit and chat a while.
I know this retirement is brutal, but with your help we'll try to protect all these young folks from it until they have to jump in the fire with us. :)

Stoped by the SA booth today and sure enjoyed talking to you all. It sure is a pleasure to be able to use this site and get the info from all the good folks on here. Keep up the good work. Thanks .

dudleyr,
it was nice meeting you I put alot more names to the faces again today. heck I am starting to meet so many of the folks here its hard to remember every ones names don't know how Rick doe it :everyone:

i met some good people today at the s.a. booth. i am sorry i did not get to meet more and chat longer but my girls were complaning about the cold.i did hear a superwide on an airboat run for the first time and it was drastically quieter than what i thought it would be.i felt bad for the cars on the road getting blasted but most were probably airboaters and tollereated it.

Dudley, man you were awesome today and I had so much fun with you. You really made it fun today. it was good meeting old faces and ALOT of new faces. It was like a family reunion. It was great. The weather was not too bad and it did not keep everyone home. We had a great time and we are ready for Broward. Thanks Rick and Teresa, you guys are special and made all of this happen.

See you in Broward Dudley. And there are 1069 members. You were 1 off

Dakota, Rick sliped that one in on me last night, you can't count that one against me.

That was a blast...we've had better weather, but that didn't matter.

As usual, thanks for all the help Dakota & c chardt.

Dudley, you were flat pulling them in at the SA booth today, thanks. Remember, if you get bored, come on down to the Broward show.

Olf, with everything going on, I forgot to give you your shirts & hats. I'll get that stuff in the mail, but you'll have to PM the shirt sizes to me.

It was really nice meeting everybody today. goldhunter, it is getting tougher...I don't think I've ever met so many members in such a short period of time as we did today.

The GTO people were great too.

Thanks,
Rick

I wish to thank everyone that came by the Gen. Jubal A Early SCV/Gator Guides tent, visited with General Lee, learned a little about our heritage & supported the Confederate Heritage license plate drive by purchasing a plate (with the funds going towards the Tallahassee lobbing effort). We sold a ton of the plates, so again, hats off to y'all!!

Speaking of protecting our rights & access, for those of y'all who bought plates, please swing by your local Florida House & Senate member's district office with your plate, ask them their position on the plate & ask them to support the plate in Tallahassee. Use the opportunity to tell them you're an airboater, proud of your heritage and want the same recognition other groups enjoy. Also, fill them in on your heritage and all the public service the airboaters give back to their communities.

If you missed us & want your very own Confederate Heritage plate, you may order one for $10, contact John Adams: info@heritageplate.org or visit: http://www.florida-scv.org/

I had a fun time too. It was nice to see the gool friends there and there were a lot of members here who Laura & I got to meet for the first time.

Of those all those we met I wanted to specifically add:
Dudleyr - nice to meet you and I'm glad you liked doing the s/a tent. It's a BLAST isn't it!!!!!! You get to meet so many people.... and if you did it with Dakota - I know how much fun you had - she's a trip!!! :) Glad you

Rick - the tent looked in good shape - I kinda thought it might have been ruined after the wind took it for a trip at the races. And it's really cool the way you have your shirts organized now!!!!

Danny Brantley - Laura and I are looking forward to helping out at the KRVSA trailer in a couple of weeks. That sure is a nice golf course assault vehicle! If I win it you can be sure it'll NEVER see a golf course! LOL

Red - Laura and I will be up there to ride Orange lake real soon. We'll call ya!!!

And Goldhunter2 It was a pleaaseure to meet you and I just hope we see you on some group rides or happen to see you on the river sometime. You seem like a fun guy that has some stories I wanna hear!!!

As usual, I feel bad saying hi to everyone then splitting off to go see the show, It seems I never have enough time to do any kickin' back and just hanging out with friends!!! My apologies if I said hi and ran to y'all - there was just so much to do!!! And both Laura and I were under-dressed for that moist and cool weather.

At least I ALMOST rode the backward steering bike across the yellow line. LOL cool stuff.

It looks like this swap meet is going to take off. Last year it was good, this year better, and we're looking forward to next year!!!

Just a thought about the swap meet ......
I think a lot of folks who stayed away yesterday was more about the temperature than the rain. Most of us don't mind getting a little wet as long as it's not chilly at the same time.

Maybe next year we could have it a little closer to the first of April ?

I enjoyed myself yesterday as well, I got to put a few faces to some names. We should get some SA. tags we can put our usernames on.

That was fun and I wanted to talk to so many people but I was either covering my parts from the rain or selling parts. I walked around once all day. Special thanks to Rick and Chris you guy's really helped me out yesterday I ow ya both a favor. I had to leave early and Chris brought my stuff back for me. P.S. there were a ton of Caddy guy's there I was surprised there were so many! Heck I had three tell me they went to a 2.68 and loved them that was nice to know! But hey I got my 455 OLD's there yesterday, well actually Chris hauled that back for me to. I bet his wife has a hit out on me by now! I better lay low!

No nametag for me. Looks nice - nametags on shirts or jackets go great with gray hair. LOL

I thought you were talking about a tag for the front of the car.
I'd like a front license tag that says Southern Airboat!

Something like this: (THIS is a name tag!!!)
airboatTAG.jpg

I got the original image from THIS eBAY AUCTION
Then modified it in photoshop.

Let's see if ol' Arthur in cocoa sells the remaining 49 of these he has left. I don't know if he can match font styles though. It kinda needs the Southern airboat part in a letter font so it looks right. The name itself could be in handwirtten script - I think that's how he does it. I'm not sure.

Something else to sell Rick!!!!

:)

matt.

Either way were going to need Rick's OK for them. I was just playing with the laptop while waiting for a friend to go get my spare set of house keys from the house sitter cause I locked myself out. Yeh, wireless is cool, I can geek from the back porch even when I'm locked out of the house ! ! ! Gettin old is getting harder. This is the second time in a month I have locked myself out and last time I was going to put a spare set hid around the place here but naturally I forgot about it. Same for the truck keys, forgot about them too til now. Maybe Ill do that tomorrow.
