Phase 2 Hunts

https://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/recreation/feral-hog-hunts

Registration will occur on December 8, 2020 at 9 a.m.
Includes six hunts that occur January through February 2021.
A $75 nonrefundable fee must be paid for each permit.
Permits are transferable.
The single top producer on each hunt of Phase 2 will be placed on the District’s “top producer” list and will be contacted between March and October 2021 to take part in feral hog management hunts on an as-needed basis, free of charge.
Failure to follow regulations or poor behavior issues will disqualify registrant for incentive consideration at the sole discretion of District staff. Participants will be provided the opportunity to refute the decision.

$75 to help swfwmd deal with a problem? Incentive consideration? Gimmie a break, are we gonna make hog hunting the next BASS tour? Permits, blah blah blah. How about just opening the places up to hog dog hunting year round, then maybe we can keep the population in check.

I can't keep a pack of dogs in hunting shape trying to chase bull crap permit hunts, they gotta hunt year round. Hunting them year round means I need some places relatively local that I know and can hit when I have the time. Traveling to unknown lands for a 3 day hunt is a sure way to limit productivity, I'm just starting to figure the place out by day 3. :banghead:

And if you read in the regs. they stipulate No Airboats among other forms of transportation. Total B.S.

This is another textbook example of the thought process that is fostered by libtards who
get College Level Indoctrination and get patted on the head by by their globalist overlords.

It never ceases to amaze me how simple they perceive the general population to be.
When exactly, did exhibiting a drop of common sense become such an uncommon commodity?

I think that most of the board of SWFMD is appointed by the governor which has been a republican.

Mr. Wilson, I am not one to avoid admitting when I've erred.
I did in fact, paint with too broad a brush when I used the term 'libtard' in my reply;
"those special people among us" would have been more accurately descriptive.

Without getting overly political, the intention of my post was to highlight a mentality that
seeks to completely sidestep common sense, while exhibiting a better than thou attitude.

The use of tax payer dollars to acquire land (habitat) and then lock the tax payer (hunter) out or charge an excessive fee is intolerable.

Every SWFWMD property should fall under the FWC Wildlife Management Area program.

I will say it was Governor Rick Scott who was pro hunter and helped open up some public land to hunting but so far Governor Desantis has done nothing to further along the matter.
