its aluminum railing that gos around the edge of the hull so its not shuch na shrp edge .......

Top, bottom?, or all the way around? Is it for body protection of hydraulics?

i think it is more cosmetic cause when i hit a tree at low speed it did nothing for me.

and i mean with the engine shut off gliding slightly to shore.

I think it's more of a safety thing to cover that harsh edge than a bumper.
have seen 1'' aluminum pipe welded to the edge. looks ok and serves the
same purpose.
