hey gold, ive been puttin lots of hours on this barge- still have some plumbing to do. hopefully tomorrow ill finish the fuel and cooling situation, its amazing how many little things there are to do with a new boat. im doin it though, one step at a time, or one step forward and two back, typical. .if i cant hear it run by 2morrow night it will be tuesday.........i hope. :) :)
and thanks ruagtor for the oil pump shaft and the modified distributor shaft to prime the system, it worked perfectly.

No sense getting impatient at this stage, just keep scratching off items on your punch list. I sure want to see that boat when your done.

you don't have to tell me out that , and it doesn't seem like you did anything when your finished that little thing that took all day to do

I thought you had it all done by now is why I asked, but like was said take your time and get it right the first time

gladescat - me neither, vroom- vroom.......i think its gonna have to run without mufflers for alittle while ( at my house, settle down everyone! )....for break in......ill get the prop set very soon after start up.......be ready for some good video folks !
gold, ill do my best to cross my T's and dot my i's..........and triple check everything before first start, and thanks for the inquiry btw. :)

DO IT RITE ! TAKE YOUR TIME ! TOM ! NEED ANYTHING HOLLAR ! I WILL HAVE TOO SCOOT MY BUT DOWN THERE SOON ! HELL JUST WAIT YOU WILL BE TUNING FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS ! THIS IS NOT TUNING WEATHER ! CANT BURN WATER !

she growls, thats for sure......couple of little issues to be sorted out but im sure thats pretty usual for a first go round on a new rig.

#1 : who can tell me were to get the counter sunk grade 8 ( 9/16 " ) 3 inch long bolts that hold my powershift powerplus hub onto the stinger-softdrive gearbox-which by the way is completely silent!

#2 : my starter is squealing like a little pig, now ive already shimmed it by 1/8" because it was too tight with the flywheel- then it started fine a half dozen times- i let everything cool down( after setting the timing) and then went to start it again, now it squeals and the starter gear stays engaged on the flywheel....the starter is a ROBBMC gear reduction unit.
thanks everbody in advance and more to come soon.

#3 theres more but the wife wants me to take her out to dinner.

fatboy, what the dealy-o with your headers- they done yet ????? post a pic- i need to get some for this barge!

john c- and bondsman and FB- and maddog- you guys already know whats up with these combo's.......and as its shaken the ground 100ft away im starting to get a clue.

I DONT EVEN WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THE SILENT STUFF :x TAKE YOUR WIFE TO DINNER ! BREAK HER IN A LITTLE ! REMEMBER A LITTLE FAT WONT HURT ! THAT DIDNT SOUND RITE DID IT . (IT WAS THE BOAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT )HEY YOU THINK ITS SHAKING NOW . JUST WAIT !

for the hub bolts go to a local hardware store such as a western auto or ace. they have the unusual grade 8 fine thread sizes.

and glad to here that the stinger is quiet cause after talking to dantheairboatman i have decided to replace my box with a stinger.instead of spending alittle less on a used product and just spending allitle extra to do it right. :D

bondsman the head is countersunk in the hub, cant use a regular hex head bolt.
i went to mcdonalds hardware yesterday they had up to 3/8's countersunk grade 8- but no 1/2"....monday i'll try broward bolt and fastenel.....
and you'll be happy with the box for sure- now i do not have a load on it yet but at this point i was able to hear nothin at all from the box.

We have gotten them from Broward Bolt in the past. Usually had them in stock, but they did have to order them one time but it only took 2 days to get. Also, don't be shy with a good anti-seize on the threads and bolt heads. We had to drill 4 of the bolts out of my dad's powershift hub, that taper really locks them in there.

Larry

a Allen head bolt would be easiest for that counter sunk bolt a good industry hardware store would have them, around here I find that type stuff at a local true valve up in Ft price right next to apple machine

larry, ill try there first-
and gold, i dont mind hearing engines but its alittle unnerving to hear grinding noises coming from the vacinity of a engine. but like i said i dont have a load on it yet- so we'll see soon enough......
