Can a tachometer from a 220 GPU be used in a Lycoming A/C engine?

We have both here Preston.
The lycomings we have run Clockwise rotation mechanical tachs.

So does the GPU we have.

So far as I can tell, you should be able to use a C/W mechanical tach on the Lycoming.

On C/W tachs, the dial reads from left to right.
On CCW tachs, it reads from right to left.

I have thought about it and can't remember...I did buy for my old 470 from Jurnigans so they would be able to tell you for sure.

Thanks guys , Im currently running a tach from a 220gpu , my concern was if the drive ratios were the same from Cont. to Lycoming.

I WENT TO THE LOCAL AIRPORT TO GET A NEW ONE AND THE MECHANIC ASKED IF IT WAS 1 TO 1 OR 2 TO 1 RATIO, SO AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE ARE DIFFERENT RATIO'S
