Matt,

I would go with whichever has the lower sales tax. I live in Lake county and bought a boat in Polk county a few years ago and the dealer registered it in Polk. The tag said Polk.

Smart move to dual register the boat in both names - unless she finds a new boyfriend. I am told that a boat must be released to an uninvolved titled owners claim if impounded. With some of the intense DLE stuff ongoing, it might reduce the number of headaches in the event something gets into a dispute.

I think that the (dual) registration is the best idea yet!
My wife and I have always done that just in case the "grim reaper" decided to visit either of us tomorrow!
