Thanks to all!!! ITS FIXED

I went to the airport today to have a mechanic run a test to see what exactly what was wrong with my dead cylinder and he found broken valve springs on intake side and since he was already in their he dug out a shoe box of old springs and found a matching pair knocked off a couple of dirt dobber nests and stuck em in and it ran like a champ!! he charged me 35.00 for parts and labor!

I thought you guys would like to know Ill be back in the water soon!

Thanks again,
Nightarcher

Cool!
I'm glad you got it figured out.

Who was it that was suspecting a stuck valve might be your problem?

Goes to show the quality of help and advise people will provide here.

Most aren't trying to be know it alls, just trying to share lessons they learned the hard way already.

I did learn something, have you ever seen the "rope trick" used to seat a valve? he couldnt get the valve to seat to remove the keepers so he stuck a bunch of rope through the spark plug hole and had me turn the prop and force the piston to push the rope against the valve, it worked like a champ!!!

I have had people tell me how to do it, but never have seen it. Glad to know they were not BS me. Thanks for passing on the tips.

We put rope in the cylinder when putting in a helicoil. Lots of grease on the tap, and between the two, there is no metal fillings getting in the cylinder. Pull the 3/8 rope out and any pieces that didn't stick to the tap come out on the rope.

Hope she runs like a champ.

yea its about time it got fixed there are too many fish swimming around out there right now that needs force fed
