The Louisiana Airboat Association is finally here!

Bigfun

Well-known member
On Saturday, August 15th 12 airboat owners gathered for the Kick Off of the first ever Airboat Club in Louisiana's history, The Louisiana Airboat Association. The members are all enthuastic owners with a passion for our sport. Following the meeting on Sunday morning several members on 3 boats made a ride where we got to enjoy some great times, scenery, and native wildlife.

We invite all other airboat owners in Louisiana to join what we hope will be a long standing quality organization that emphasizes the promoting of our sport. Anyone wanting additional information can pm Stress Relief, Mudbug, or myself.

Yeah, I think we're off to a good start. I certainly had a good time meeting everyone there. Looking forward to hooking up with ya'll again real soon.

To all other Louisiana Airboaters:
If you are interested in joining or want to find out more info, please contact one of us so that we can add your email to our list and keep you informed about the upcoming "rides" and meeting. If you don't have a Southern Airboat signon, you can email me directly at parmand@hotmail.com

Also, we'll be creating a Louisiana Airboat Association website soon to help keep everyone informed about the organization.

All right now!!! That's Great!!! I know all of you will find a lot more enjoyment in our sport now,
and we Floridians are lookin forward to having another State organization to join with or have join us
when there's a legislative issue on the table. What affects you in LA affects us all. Don't hesitate to
count on Florida boaters if we're needed.

Good luck!

The reason Stress was not pictured was due to the pain from his broken foot, I can assure you he was the first man there. Based on where everybody pictured lives I'd have to say 99% tail squeezing, headsucking, crawfish eating Cajuns!

Congratulations on the new organization.
Ya'll must be rich by the looks of that table and your surrounding.

I have a cert. aircraft mechanic that is willing to work with us on aircraft motor repairs. He lives in the Baton Rouge area. He and I talked Sat. and he is giving us really good rates. Give me a call if you need help. (225) 955-3870 or email me rwunsel@yahoo.com.

Well what is new??? Is the webpage up yet? Need to look at joining up since my boat will be getting here soon. I bet everyone is teal hunting that's why its all quiet.

Is there any way the Association can start developing a list of places that are legal to ride...

We will hold our next meeting on Saturday Oct. 17th at 6:30pm at The China Buffet, 1901 Old Spanish Trail, Slidell, LA @ Hwy 433 exit.

On the agenda is Organization Name and Mission Statement discussion and election of officers. We will also try to have a ride on Oct. 18th, the time and location will be determined at the meeting.

To followup on what Rodney mentioned, if we can generate enough interest at the meeting, the plan is to have a ride the next day. We were thinking of riding from the East Pearl river over to the Silver Slipper casino where we can stuff ourselves at the buffet and then stat to watch the Saints game on the big screen. Lets see, airboats, riding, all you can eat buffet, football, beer and new friends.... yeah, count me in !!!!

What is the latest on the LAA???? I know most of you may be helping out in spill clean-up efforts but would like some updates....

Louisiana Airboat Association is alive but temporarily stalled. We're hoping to have a get together in August or September. If anyone has any questions, suggestions, or looking for Info, they can PM me or Bigfun or call me direct at 504 400-8800
