Onced and twiced are words.

Coldbeer is one word.

People actually grow and eat okra.

Green grass DOES burn.

When you live in the country you don't have to buy a dog. City people drop them off at your front gate in the middle of the night.

The sound of coyotes howling at night only sounds good for the first few weeks.

Lot's o' similarities between the two. When we cease to be members of the U.S.A, we might invite ya'll to join.

Now that's funny, Quack. Yup, I agree with the other boys .... the only people fancy down
here moved here from some other place to get away from the snow. I've got a buddy who
says he was nigh-on-to (nuther single word) 15 yrs. old before he figured out that pintos, collards, cornbread, and sweet tea weren't the four major food groups. :)

Fact is, I'd bet a case of longnecks (single word) that we've got as many Longhorn cattle
down around Okeechobee as you boys have around Austin. Shaba tells me I'm a member of your new airboat association. Thanks to all of y'all .... damn proud to be aboard.

I hear ya Olf Art... I was dayum near eleventeen when I figured out that DAYUM YANKEE was more than one word.

That'd be an easy bet to loose... there ain't no cattle around Austin anymore, but there is a bumper crop of Yuppies & Yunkin' Fankees that are tryin' to take over our great STATE... ya oughta see 'em in MANLEY footwear & a WESTERN BRIM. My favorite is when they refer to everything with Texas in their lexicon, i.e... Texas BBQ, Texas Two Step, Texas Chicken Fried Steak, etc. DUH ... like we don't know that we're in Texas.

Another good one is when they tell you they brought a "ranch" & that they are runnin' 10 head... 10 head WTF is that & then they'll well my "ranch" is only 30 acres... $#!^ our front yard was bigger than that growin' up. We just need to kick 'em out & SECEDE. Please forgive the rant...

I know that at one time the largest registered herd of cattle was in FL... 'em Seminoles were runnin' a bunch of Brahma somewhere over there.

believe we might want to SECEDE and I hope that succeeds..

Thanks for the heads up rost495... I saw a bumper sticker in a STOP-N-ROB of the Texas flag for a background with the word "SUCEED" in bold letters across it... :drunken:

Your State Charter certainly provides for it ... it's still in there that you boys can secede
and then divide into five seperate States. Give me a heads-up if y'all see it coming. I'll
need a few days to move my stuff to San Antonio. :)

The term 'Florida Cracker' comes from the cowboys who went out to gather up open range
cattle with bull whips back in day. There's still a bunch of them old Brahma down here, but
the new deal is Buffalo ... they eat real good and bring good money too.

Actually the research has been done and we can NOT secede legally... I forget where the hitch is though..

We can still fly our State flag at the same level as the US flag though... whoopee... big deal.

Before it was the State of Texas, wasn't it the Republic of Texas?

Here in FL we have the Conch Republic which may well subdivide the State sometime in the future.

Republic of Texas it was, my memory isn't that good but circa 1836 IIRC but went to the US in 1837 so short lived, I may have that all jumbled up though.

That works too flyin blind

I don't care if it's legal or illegal or whatever, but we have been told all our lives that Texas retained the Right to Secede from the Union & return to a Republic as Texas see's fit. I remember that from Texas History which is taught in Middle School.

Everyone ought fly the "Gonzales Flag"... the one with the Lone Star, Black Cannon & the words "COME AND TAKE IT" on it. That oughta get 'em mofo's goin'

I don't think it'll be easy any which way, but I've researched it enough to know what we learned in history is WRONG at this point in time.

Frankly its fun to think of it that way too, but I think doing it would be costly in many ways and it might not work out at that point IE lots of blood and money and time and still even if you could make it, could you make it work...

Rost, you have as much authority as you take. Remember what I just told you ... it will
serve you well in life. If the Texas legislature decided to secede, and stood by that decision,
there's not a damn thing Congress could do about it. Sure, they'd rattle sabers and make a
lot of noise ... there would be special sessions and all of that other bulls**t, but if your
legislature stood firm and just got on with business they'd be whinin' like a spanked puppy
when all was said and done. Y'all could send one whole year of income tax to Austin instead of the IRS and have enough money to buy the freakin Supreme Court!

Boys, it's high time we quit lettin' Washington lead us around by the nose. Sometimes I feel like a
calf that's bein herded into the chute at a slaughter house.
I'm about of a mind to dig in my heels and say 'No, Hell no ... not anymore".

That's why y'all need to elect me KING FOR LIFE... one way or another we'd jerk a half-hitch in some of 'em mofo's @$$!!!

Don't need no king for life... we could be headed that way as it is....

Anyway Olf Fart makes a good point. THere may/will come a time when its time to stand, and at that point so be it, but I doubt if we keep going it'll be a bit of saber rattling, rather it's liable to be the socialists making a point of us.....

And dont think for a second I"m against any of it, I"m not, just would want to make sure it all works right if it happens.

And on the legality issues, I'm simply saying its not legal regardless of what feel good feelings we have on the issue. Not that it shouldn't be done.

When our forefathers made their stand at that little bridge in Lexington, MA, they didn't know
what the outcome would be either, but they were willing to stand there against the British
and let the chips fall where they may. It was that courage that everyone of us carries in our
loins, and in our heritage.

When those landing craft were coming ashore at Normandy in WWII those boys knew that it
wasn't going to be pretty ... they knew that they might die, and hundreds of them did.
But they did it anyway.

The soul of America is in it's individualism. It's in the common man. We may be approaching a time when we who care have to take another stand. To refuse to lose. We shall see.
