Tore up a good engine form oil starvation running at 4000 rpm for to long and ran it out of oil every one should think about a deep oil pan or don't run you boat at high rpm for any lenth of time. I only ran mine for about 5 min witch was to long. been running that motor for 3 1/2 years as driect drive and only about 8 months with a box . waterthunders has been talking about those deep oil pans for a while and now I have to listen the hard way.

cchardt, Sorry to hear about that! I thought I had problems. This sounds like an expensive fix. Hope you get er done soon, good luck!!! WADE

That stinks been there done that. Put a big oil pan on it and forget about it. I run a minimum of an 8 quart pan and on motors turning 8,000 RPM and up I try to run a 10 to 12 quart pan. You would be amazed how quick a 377 small block Chevy run’s out of oil turning 9,000 RPM. The unfortunate part is you must bore your block allot and I guess you have to put a bigger arm in it too.HE-HE-HE-HE.

cchardt, Haven't heard how you made out with your fix. Did you take thunders advice on the bigger oil pan, let us know!!!

I have tore apart the 92 350 engine that I have and have decided to put bearings in it and hone the cylinders and put a cam in it other than that I'll put an intake on and a deep oil pan. trying to build this one as cheap as possible to get the boat going. then I'm going to start building a bad stroker with thunders help and know how or maybe an L S 1 just got to save the money up!!!

Copy that! My little project seemed big to me. Could not imaging having to tear down the motor. More power to ya! I'm with ya on the LS1. Sounds like one bad ass motor. :D
