TWISTER BOX

OK I'm going to see who can tell me what ratio this Twister Box is. I've never seen one before but it seems to work on some kind of clutch. The owner says he was told to tie the prop while towing the boat or the box will not get oil and burn the bearings up. The airboat is for sale take a look at the pics

If some one could post the picture of the box for me.
Other wise take a look at it here.

I’m 90% sure that is one of Innovative accessories old chain drives it is a very efficient box I wish Norman kept making them. A chain drive is much more efficient then a gear drive or belt drive. It doesn’t have a clutch but it uses a sprag and when you tow the boat the prop will turn. Norman spent weeks trying to break one of those during testing they are bullet proof. He final broke one on his test stand by throwing a 2x12 board thru the prop and all it did was break the case. It’s advantages are,,, chain drive is very efficient, light, quite and pretty near indestructible. It’s only negatives are it’s only available in a 2to1 ratio and the prop and motor torque in the same direction like a belt drive does. I would like to find one to run on one of my V/6's Innovatives number is 863-357-3400 he is in south Fl
