(WCCO) Emergency officials rescued two people Saturday evening from the St. Croix River after a snowmobile went through the ice.

After 6 p.m., two snowmobilers got stranded in the river, just north of Stillwater, Minn.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Department, one person fell through the ice on a snowmobile and was in water up to his armpits. He was found hanging onto the edge of some ice.

The other snowmobiler was stranded on top of a chunk of ice, surrounded by water.

Rescuers used underwater suits and an airboat to.....

Rick,

I wish someone would get an old "stick" prop and start "notching" it like the oldtimers used to do with other stuff! (One rescue / one-notch).

Bet it would fill up pretty fast! Good article.

May be we need to keep a log of every rescue done with a Airboat so we can show it to the news crews and other folks to show them what a valuable rescue tool they are especially when they want to talk about us in a negitive way.It is hard to dispute facts when you have them documented.

Hey Sniper,
If we started to notch our props, we'd have to get new props!! :D
I can't afford that right now..... Take care wingman.

I think that may be a great idea to archive rescues ! I have no clue how to run a database but it sounds doable to me. Even search the net with words like rescue, airboat etc.

SHould we take a pole how many rescued people were offended by the sound of the boat??

Hey WhiteBear,
I will be shipping 6 new airboats to Iraq in about a week. Keep an eye out for them.
I'm not sure where they will end up but they are going into Kuwait.

I'm all for the archiving of Airboat rescues -- What a grate tool to use when we have to deal with the an-ties. Dave L. in Mimi Day fire would know how to help with this. ( sorry Dave but you would)

Will do Airboatcapt2. My bag is satellite communications for the guys but sometimes I get to sight see a little. I'll keep an eye out for them.
