Saturday April 7 from sunrise till noon there is a lake cleanup on the Kissimmee chain. The cleanup peaks at noon at Camp Mack where all the trash collected is weighed in and prizes (lots of them) will be given out then it splits up into a loosely organized ride after the eating is done.
Last year, on the ride after the cleanup - I think we counted
140 airboats in the grass at the milk bus.
It's like a boat show. Except at this boat show, when you see an airbrushed hull all pretty and decked out with chrome trim....
you know there are pistons in the cylinders because there is no driving a trailer to some of those places!!! LOL
Seriously - April 7 is the next big ride - if you're in Ft Pierce it's an easy ride. Put in at Grape Hammock and ride up to Camp Mack or join the fray at Camp mack's ramps.
There seems to be a bit of a rivalry between the Broward club and the KRVSA over who collects the most trash. So south Florida is well represented at this outing.
One word of warning - Camp Mack will be a mad-house around noon!!!! It may be wise to bring rope and fenders the parking is so tight. But that just adds to some of the fun - it's totally worth it!!!
Come On!!!!!!!
matt.
