Speed is picking up on the project. The more I do, the faster it goes.

Great progress, All I have so far is ideas that keep changing. I like my 454 choice because there is lots of upgrade parts in the future but for the time being stock with headers, aluminum intake and perhaps better cam should be more fun than the Toyota. If I can't figure out a drive, or can't afford a drive, I can direct drive and I bet it will still be a bunch of fun. I would really like to have engine down low with gear to reverse rotation to a long belt in an affordable package. My machine shop buddy kind of scoffed at the market size when I suggested developing one. Keep up the great work!

I agree Basket! Red you must be a determined man. I couldn't even think of doing that! Looks good man :D

Nice sized shop, mine is smaller and pretty well set up too but I wish I had a hoist! Must be nice! Keep up the good work!

Yeah, the engine hoist was worth every penny, no more come-a-long for me!

I do need more room, a steel welding table, lights so I can work at night and more electrical outlets so my power tools aren't so bunched up. A roof over everything would be a plus, but at least I do have some roof....and hey, the hull is right in front of me so it's a snap to grab a measurement if I need to.

I'm steadily adding tools and moving stuff around. By the time I build the next rigging, I should have things set up pretty good.

No: I thought the vehicle in the background was on a two post hoist or something. I guess it might be a swamp buggy or be on saw horses or something. just really looked up there. got my garage cleaned out today. Start thinking about building the mold. I guess I can put some pics on now so I can show you a clean garage. The Toyota got put putside till hopefully somebody buys it. I guess it only cost me some time and $60.00 for some one to haul the hulk away. Heat up here is a big plus, Leave it set to 33 so nothing freezes and push the lever up and within 10 minutes its pretty nice, except my wallet hurts. Is that redneck? I will spend money on tools so I don't have to hire anybody!

Oh, down here we call em lifts.

Yeah, that is how that truck sits up. it's on short jack stands.

Tallest I ever built was '78 f250 with 4" suspension and 8" body lift on 34" little tires. It was fun though. Hot 460, 4 spd. 4.10/1 with locker in back.

It's a solid axle Toyota with 10" lift and 39.5" tires. Detroit in back, EZ Locker in front, and 5.29 gears.

When it's running right, it's a very strong pulling little truck.

Sounds like a blast. Priorities! My boy told me how to spell that one!~. GEt the boat running and then get the truck running! Somewhere in there you might have to do a little shop organizing!

Cold, did he say anything about the overtime you also need to work in order to pay for all of this .... ? Glad to see you gettin started with it.

Here's what I managed to do today in my unorganized redneck shop.

Dwarf, when you get 'er finished are you planning to paint or powdercoat?

Looking good for sure. Post some more pics as it comes along. Heres acouple of pics of my shop ( dog house ) where I stay away from the wife when she's in a bad mood. Outside is the welder, torch, and plasma cutter and air compressor, inside is brake machine , lathe and mill, and drill press.I would hate to try and replace this building and equipment today. I love my little work shop.Later

Cajun nice shop how long ( each part and total length) and how wide is your shop thanks

I think its 20 wide, front open area is 25 long and rear enclosed is 20 or 22 long. Its plenty for what I do and has enough room in the front to put a boat or auto in to work on. Had it built 4 years ago had total cost was around $11K, I did the plumbing and electric. Now with all the rise in concrete, gas, and metal, I hate to think what they would charge. It has 12 X 18 footers all the way around and the same across the middle. Later
