my uncle just had a 14ft scorpion hull built. took hull to diamondback and had rigging
built. motor is a flagship marine fuel injected chevy v6, 2.38 gear reduction,2blade
sensenich k series wide prop. turning 4800 WOT. the boat performs really well on the
water. runs a little dry preety well. the problem is when he runs a long stretch of dry
the boat just stops like you let off of the throttle ,but i rode with him saturday this happened to us and when the boat stopped my uncle was still holding the throttle wide open. i can get off of the boat grab the grassrake and push-pulland the boat willstart moving, but if i let go the boat will stop again. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks.

Sure could, but I don't think this situation is because of that..IMO it is because of 2 more cylinders needed, or a new shot of slickum needed.

Got a buddy with a 520 on one with still flex does the same thing? In the water you couldn't ask for a sweeter ride! The boats are light to. After driving one i want one. Just gets old shaking it loose. I like one of thunders high compression stroker packages with a 268 Stinger soft drive 3 bl on one.You wouldn't get stuck then.To me those 4.3 are just putting your toes in the water.Your going to end up jumping in anyway. So instead of building 2 motors go ahead and build that 383 and get it done! :D

Doughboy said that his uncle just had the boat built so it shouldn't need a new bottom. If that v6 is stock, on a 14ft boat it might be the lack of 2 more cylinders that Rich was talking about.

my old boat had steel flex only on the bottom, before I went to polymar it would run the dry a bit, then stick. I don't think you can get the best performance out of steel flex unless you put a coat of slickum on top of it. Seen the same boat before and after and what a diff it made.

one of our club members has a 13' alumitech with a 4.3 v6 and stinger gear box. It runs dry very well. He also has polymer and runs a 3 blade H series sensenich. A 100 Shot of N20 may give you that extra little boost you need in a sticky situation.

i have a 12 foot scorpion also great in the water couldnt ask for any better. But it also fills like it is plowing on dry 520 A/C
