Vessel Safety Inspections at Florida Airboat Association Quarterly Meeting

Just imagine . . . . You’re about to launch your boat in at your favorite spot. A new sign is posted at the ramp. The sign reads….
NO AIRBOATS ALLOWED
There are organizations that would love to see this happen. The Florida Airboat Association is working hard to preserve our rights to enjoy our sport.

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary will be conducting Boating Safety Inspections for the general public between 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM at the Florida Airboat Association (FAA) Quarterly Meeting at Loughman fish camp on July 9, 2005.

Loughman camp is located just west of Titusville off SR 46, at 1955 Hatbill Road, Mims, FL 32754.
Safe Boat decals will be issued to those vessels that pass inspection.

Current registration, proper registration numbers, working navigational lights and a working separate 360 degree white anchor light is required. Airboats must also have this anchor light to pass inspection.

For a complete listing of the required equipment go to: http://safetyseal.net/what_is_vsc.asp
