Walk In The Woods

Friday October 20'2006 club members of the lake county airboaters volunteered to give tours of Lake George to participants in this years Annual Walk in the Woods .This event is organized by the Volusia School system along with The county's land management division ,Florida Division of Forestry and FWC to give county students an insight in the forestry enviroment .The airboaters also gave rides to Master Conservationist's of Volusia. Volusia county's land management supplied barbque prepared by Duke Daniels , life preservers and earplugs, It was very apparent that everyone had an enjoyable experience and went home with fond memories of airboating.

Cool ..... 8) . I think some folks are almost amazed sometimes when they realize what nice people airboat folks really are. The newspapers often miss that side of us.

Very cool. Volusia County seems to have a really cool government at the county level.

It's a rare case to say this.... re-elect them all!

One other thing... I don't know the details of the boats giving rides, but there does not seem to be much of a fuss about liability, insurance, waviers, inspections, and so on. It's REALLY refreshing to see some folks out just having a good OLD FASHIONED good time!!!! (and the gov't letting them do it)
