Want new prop!!

Ok, here's what I have. A 13 ft fiberglass hull, 220 rebuilt gpu, 2 single seats, 20 gal fuel tank, slick bottom all with a 4 blade warp drive set at 7 1/2 degrees. Boat runs fine at 50mph and not too bad on ground. I would like a little better running dry and something a little quieter.
Any thoughts ???
Rick.

You could try any of the two blade props by WaterWalker, Whirlwind, Terminator or Sensenich and you'd probably be happy. None will sound like the Warp Drives and they all push pretty good. I like my Water walker pretty well.

I'd say a 72" would probably be as big as you'd want to try to run with your 220 but I'm no prop expert.

Ricmey, You'll do best with a 70" or 72" WaterWalker Signiture series 2blade. It is more efficient and easy to setup. Best push per horsepower.

We can sell most any prop, but I choose to be a dealer for Sensenich so they always get my vote. My father chose to sell Sensenich and Warp Drive Props. I have not had a call for a Warp Drive in a while. The other brand props are good, but I am a die hard Sensenich fan. I like the company, the companys history with aircraft propellers, and the people I deal with at the company. I like the idea of a 70" prop with a little more pitch, than a longer prop with less pitch. For a stock compression / horse power GPU I would suggest a 70" 2 blade narrow. If you have a little more horse power and want a little more prop the 70" 2 blade medium Q-Series prop is a great choice. The Q-Series retails for $150 over the price of the narrow blade. As a courtesy to everybody that looks here for advise, I like to offer the Southern Airboat Website Members a discount on certin services and products. We like to help and support the ones that support us.

I would suggest a 72 in Whirl Wind Prop. I ran that prop on my 220 and loved it. Pushed on land great. 13x8 with 3 people and 30 gal. fuel ran the hill. I can get you a great deal on one if you want. I am a dealer for all props but I sell more whirl winds than anything!
Good Luck,

The 68" Super Snapper 3 blade is another Great Option on that engine. I only ran the 72" Stump Puller on my 220. It was amazing compared to the wooden prop.
I think Either way you would be happy. Whirl Wind also gives you a 30 Day Satisfaction Guarantee. They have awesome customer service and the prices are a little cheaper than everyone else!

2 blade Stump Puller lists $1,590
3 Blade Super Snapper Lists $1,990
Free Shipping and I also give a special Southern Airboat Exclusive Discount.

I have run a Warp, Whirlwind, and Sensenich Q Series. Q Series is light years ahead of the other two.

Never run a Water Walker, but they sure talk a good game.

i would go with the Q blade from sensenich. It will make your boat turn into a new better running and quieter running boat. That's what I run. :D Sensenich also will guarantee you are completely happy with your prop. U can come by the shop and have a look around at the way the props are made if u like . we are in plant city ,fl about a hour from u. we do only sell composite props through our dealers

i had a 12 ft fiberglass hull, a 220 with dual mags and holley 500 cfm carb. 40 gal tank and a cooler slam full and i weigh about 280 lbs. i put a 72" sensenich q series on mine set a little over the 2 mark, turned it about 3000 rpm. best thing i ever did for that boat hands down. the customer service at sensenich is the best. you wont be sorry with a q series.

I have a 3 blade Falcon 78" set at 15 degrees and still turning 3500 rpm will you guys let me try a Two blade 80" super wide to see if I like it?

Ok guys, Its no secret I bought a boat receently and will run it as is for a bit when I get home. It has a Fla Stick prop on it now. Its a 200 Lycoming on a Bear design curved side deckover thats 11'6". Looking at replacing the Stick when its shot, does they make a direct replacement for it? I like what Im hearing about the Q series stuff but this isn't a 400+ HP boat.

Scotty

Scotty, a friend of mine is running a 70" Q series 2 blade on his 180 on a 13ft Viking glass hull and loves it. He went from a 68" paddle prop and says that now he can run on plane a couple hundred rpm lower then beore and run dry alot easier as well.

Larry

Larry,
Did your buddy have to re-do his engine stand to accomodate the extra back-spacing for the composite hub?

Perhaps he just slid it forward in his hull.

Scotty,
You may need a few extra inches behind your existing blade centerline.
The composite hubs stick back a little further from the prop flange.

No big deal, but thought you should know.
Sometimes it's a problem when putting composite props on older boats that were rigged to swing wood.

Later

He had enough clearance to fit it. My dad had to move his rudders back to clear his powershift when we put it on as did another friend of mine that put a Q series on his 180/ 12ft Gillieo. The composites are about 3 inches further back then wood.

Larry

Fortunately with the deckover I don't have to fight the transom so I should be able to leave the motor location where it is and just move the rudders back a little.

Thanks guys, I know to look for it when the time comes.

Now I got a plan.

Scotty
