Wanted: V-drive flatbottom

That's right, I'm looking for a CHEAP, used V- drive flatbottom boat. The California drag boat kinda boat that has the headers that go up and back and is LOUD and OBNOXIOUS. It doesn't need to be pretty, as long as it floats or can be made to float fairly easy.
Before anyone asks if I am getting out of airboating, the answer is NO. The reason I want one of these boats is to put, in big letters on the side, NOT AN AIRBOAT, and go buzz the neighborhoods late at night that think airboats are loud and think it is OK to restrict airboats and NOT ALL boats. That way when the Sheriff gets called out he can call back and say "it's not an airboat".
Anyone want to donate one to the cause?

you need to find one of the direct drive drag boats with the straight pipes. I remember those things when we had the cranes setting are hydroplanes back on the trailers and the drags where running the ground still shook there was times we wondered if are boats would fall off the trailers form the shacking :D
 
Bob - I totally understand your venting! ;) There are some hot-rod jet ski's out there too that sound like a "godzilla-mosquito". Horrendous sound!

Guess what Bob? Call me.... my neighbor here in Orlando had been in a battle with the city zoning over parking his boat in his FRONT yard (his place has NO backyard)
The boat in question is a big block ford powered jet boat with straight headers that point up and back at about a 45° angle. I think they are not chrome though.
It's RED metalflake and black. It looks like Batman's boat or something.

And here is another treat for you.... to keep the city from impounding his boat, he moved it to his brother's house..... IN ST. CLOUD on East Lake. :twisted:

Wanna chip in on some gas and go stargazing at high speed? LOL REPEATEDLY??? LOL!!!

Hey mood, find out if he wants to run it at night. I'll pitch in for fuel for sure. Test drives are required at night also.

Yep gold, that's what I want, an earth shaking, loud as HELL, non-airboat. Maybe I'll way under prop it so it doesn't go too fast. Just alot of RPMs. That's it, Low, Slow and LOUD.

some spark plug wires, a prop and a trim motor so swampjet could raise the prop out of the water /mud to run slow and loud :D and heck just forget about putting mufflers on it :lol: :lol:

Boy, that would feel good - but just in case any of "those" HOMOwners are reading this.... it's a joke, alright? We are not out for vengence.
Difference between us and them: We can joke about it. We have a sense of humor.

But I do have this to say to those HOMOwners.... (if they are reading this) - you better not complain about one single sound in the night from here on! If you do you are the worst kind of hippocrite.

We can offer that advice to you because we are the ultimate tree huggers. Airboaters are out there in it and we love it more than you know. We are conservationists who see the BIG PICTURE - and we remember the trees that were cut down so you could have a st. augustine lawn right down to the water's edge.
And we know that there are OTHER sounds out there on the lake - but you singled US out and kicked us off a lake that we as taxpayers own.

For anyone who doesn't know where Hidden Harbor subdivision is on West Lake it's located on the West side of the lake just South of the two islands. Feel free to boat around that area as much possible it's even encouraged. I think I will do a lot of gator hunting in that area of the lake this year. We will see how they like avgas fumes maybe that will help them sleep.

My Provincial/Municipalities Governments decided to spend almost a Billion CDN Dollars on a waterfront in my city and another up and down, About 100 miles of river and marinas across the river from me but boat launch still less than a 1/4 mile from me!
so that's what is happening in the next year or two. When the jet guys get out there it's nice for about 5 minutes (sound wise) but if your not on the boat it becomes a pain in the a$$ real quick! :lol:

Thats the kind of boat I want, or if they can't sleep it's the sound that lull's them into the most bliss-full sleep. Depending where you live ambulance or jake brakes work well also! :lol:
 
I say let's do some planned rides during the hours we can operate. Hell if we can't run them when we want to then we might as well over indulge when we are allowed to! Damn Margaret....I don't remember this many airboats on the lake BEFORE the curfew!

Oh my god they killed airboating....you bastards!
