Warning to all airboats running in C40 upper basin area

Just a warning to be on the look out for an older light powder blue mako center console with a
Grey -115 mariner outboard on it. This person almost killed myself and my passenger on Friday Sept. 6th. He was running at full speed in the cut through—-Coming from the 3 forks area(St. John’s waterway in Melbourne Florida). He was running full speed in the cut through canal and riding completely on the wrong side. I did everything possible to avoid him. Even though i had obeyed all navigational rules/laws — this person made no attempt to correct his illegal placement and hit me - launching his boat from my front grass rake - flying by my drivers seat -then crashing through all my rear cage, rudders etc. My airboat is destroyed. Please take care and look out for this dangerous driver and his boat. Take care!

:rebel: I am sure sorry to hear about this ,but I don't see nothing about injury's so that is a good thing .I sure hope they had the descentisie to stop and help ,make sure everyone was alright . :rebel:

This boater had zero regard for others in how he was driving. He almost killed us and I am sure he will be right back out there to put others at risk again. He provided false information to FWC. FWC saw through this and he will be receiving citations for his wrecklessness etc. Sadly though - that won’t stop this individual from doing this again.

:rebel: did he have insurance and yes on the lawyer if he don't :rebel: glad no one was hurt sounds like this could have been much much worse. :rebel:

He did not have insurance - but i do so I will take the hit. Hoping my insurance will then go after him for the losses.

He was still going in the same style on the morning of the 7th. Ran over our bait line twice. Sorry to hear about the crash but heads up he's still going in the same manner

That's dangerous, you should post some pic.
Aitboat is ship/vessel shall follow the COLREG.
Here we need a yacht drive lisence signed by the MSA(Maritime safety Administraton). Is there any requirement in USA?

Only if you were born after a certain date, OI think it is 1985 but I could be wrong. And then it is only a requires coast guard safety class. It teaches rules of the road which this idiot does not adhere to plus simple navigation. Not a bad course for everyone.

I can think of no reason a boat of that description would be regularly running in that area if it weren’t Gator season. Every year it brings out the least common denominator in society to the water. Absolute morons!!

With any luck he wont get his tags filled and never comes back!!!

He is probably fishing, I cringe everytime I take that trail, no flags on regular boats, high speeds for reg boats to keep on plane to get through vegetation, tight trails, just a matter of time before somebody eats the grass rake.

I can’t believe it hasn’t happened yet! We have the same scenario up here between 50 and Hatbill.

I have said it over and over: there needs to be flags on EVERY vessel out there.
