Watch Friday's Katrina Hero Presentation Live

Swampjet called from the Capitol Building today with a weblink that will allow us all to watch tomorrow's special recognition of those Florida airboaters who were real-life "Rescue Heroes" following last year's Hurricane Katrina.

Commissioner Charlie Bronson will present the Resolution in the Cabinet Meeting Room at 9:00 am on Friday, April 21st. Nearly 20 of the airboat heroes will be present to be honored, with copies of the Resolution to be sent to the other 50 or so who can't attend.

For any of y'all that didn't have an opportunity to listen to this presentation this morning, it was Wonderful.
When the volunteer airboaters were introduced a cheer went up from the legislators there that I think surprised even Gov.Bush.

A lot of these folks may not be directly involved on the committees that have a personal hand in our legislation, but if the cheers I heard are any indication there are a LOT of Florida Legislators that are big fans of airboaters and airboating.

I can tell you that it was just great being there and seeing the support for eveyone in the room for our airboaters. THe Governor and Cabinet were very impressed with the outpouring of support

It got even better when we went to the Senate Gallery and the Senators all gave us a great round of applause.

Then the Senate bill passed the Senate....
