Doea anyone know how much water is left in the area north of 41 around the miccosouki reservation, that would make for good riding? And is it leagal to put in there on the west end of the reservation??

No water for airboats. I was out Monday on the 4 wheelers. When you say W of the Indian Res do you mean by the tower on 41 ? If so, yes, that is a public ramp.

Duece, I put in at the 1st airboat landing past the Mamma Jamma gate and ran South to the Microwave Canal using the Western trails. No water at all. When the water was this low last year off of the Alley it was just as dry off of 41.

Yes you are allowed into WCA3 on 4 wheelers. I do not know of any access areas off of 41 for 4 wheelers to get into WCA 3.

Naw Duece it was great !!! Easy riding, few bumps here and there but nothing bad. My 5yo made it there and back with no problem. We stayed in the airboat trails or just outside in the matted grass. My 5yo already informed my wife we are going back next weekend and we are going to ride around even more!!

Rdm20470,

I like the way your 5yo thinks :) Just go ahead and ride every weekend!

Better get that 4 WD installed :)

Yea grant, anytime I want to do something I just put the idea in the kids head and they take care of the rest. My wife has a hard time telling the kids no.

I dumped in off of 41 on Saturday, and practically ran dry most of the way. I'm not going back until there's more water in there. I heard from other guys that were running by Holiday Park, and they said that area has plenty of water. Thats where I'll be going this weekend.

Holiday Park will have water up to the Miami Canal. West of the Miami Canal will be dry. There was fires on Monday out there by MM39. If you cross the Miami Canal by The Crossroads Camp be careful that trail on the other side is very very muddy dry.

i live just north of lox road and have my first airboat. went out for first time off of sr. 27 just north of holliday park on east side . made it out to a camp called old glory and back after work ( a good time was had) is there anywater at the end of lox road or where would it be best for a newbie newbie...and i mean new. to get out where there is water and stay out of the way of cattle craft and diehards???

thx mike

Go back to where you were, just follow the trail past Old Glory heading E and you will run into the rest of the camps in area 2. They will be north of the trail you are on. When launching from Lox be careful of the tour boats and be careful in the trails, there is high grass and lots of blind corners, I have been riding out there for years and still get temporarily misplaced over by the Lox Road landing. Oh yea lots of mud trails leading from Lox Road.

Area 2 is split into 2 areas. The South side is called The Bombing Range, it is bordered by Markham park to the East, 595/Sawgrass to the South, US27 to the West and a levee to the North. There are no camps on this side but there are lots of malalluca tree stumps. Fishing is good in the old bombing holes and frogging is good. Access to this area is from Sawgrass Rec Park, which is North of 595/Sawgrass on US27. Go into the park and go right after the bridge and the boat ramp is in front of you.
The North side is bordered by Sawgrass to the East, a levee to the South, US27 to the West and another levee to the North. Lots of camps in the area and good frogging. Access points are Sawgrass Rec Park, Lox Road and there are 2 boat ramps off of US27, one is few hundred yards past the entrance to Sawgrass Rec Park and the other is approx 5-7 miles past the park, it is referred to as The Stub Canal.

South of US41, behind the Airboat Assoication, the water is pretty good, last weeks rain raised it abour 5 inches.......were haveing out annual BBQ the weekeend of the 28th, so were all doing the RAIN DANCE!!

we all are looking for areas to ride. being new don't want to end up someplace i shouldn't be. so where is it prohibited to ride verses areas where its not a good idea ( i call these gray areas) verses legal areas.
thx again.
mike

i know we haven't had enough rain to end the drought but what areas are ridable and are open. i heard rumors that 2a and 3a south where closed to all motorized vehicles but i was hoping that with all of this rain that things are better. i live on a 22 acre lake in east boca and it back up tp normal ( i know that doesnt count).i am new to airboating and so far have only been in area 2a a few times before the drought put an end to my new found interest so i have no idea where to go

thx mike

went ridin last weekend in 2a and there was enough to ride most of the day now i dont know if it was supposed to be closed or not but there wasnt any signs or anything then again im new to air boatin also
