WaterThunder 475HP Fuel injected dyno numbers!

This was the first pull of my new fuel injected series motor! It made 478HP @ 6,000RPM It will make 500HP by the end of the week I will rate this motor as a 475HP because I like to under rate the HP of our motors also I prefer to rate them where most people limit their engine RPM's! Notice she makes 400ft pounds of torque @ 2,500RPM's this will be an awesome airboat engine

the hp is very impressive but what gets me is the tq # between 4000 &4500 man what agreat braket motor right car right driver would be consistant as heck with efi and you could still use power brakes with aflat idle what a sleeper! be a super gear box moter smooooth!! to bad 141 booked he allways wanted to see some of your #s

Plum, look at how low the water temps were too ..... let this monster crawl up to about 175-180 degrees and the fuel mileage would be amazing.
At those temps the ECM is still keepin it a little rich.

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised I thought it would be weaker then my 450HP carb motor! To make 500HP @ 6,000 RPM with this stlye fuel injection is awesome because I only wanted to use the real reliable injected stuff on an airboat! I could make three changes and get her way up there in HP but I'm shooting for an extremely broad smooth ideling and fuel efficient motor! Plus using the OEM injectors and rails helps me keep the final cost down along with 200,000 proven components!

Man Olf Art you don't miss much do ya! You know how much more HP running it at 180deg would give me but that is not where they run at in an airboat! To be honest I hated to post these numbers but I have an airboat manufacture bashing me and talking trash about my work! Whats funny they never bought a motor from me! My only rebuttal when people approach me about this trash talk has been you need to talk to somebody who actually owns or runs one of my motors!

I told you EFI makes power, and look how flat it is

Bet it idles smoother than a carb and starts faster too. And the float won't stick like my carb did yesterday

Dwarf, to me the beauty of an ECM is that they start the same every time .....
80 deg. F. or 25. Boom. They're runnin. 8)

A carb still makes more power this exact same set up with a carb makes over 520HP! And to be 100% honest when I'm done tweaking it to the max I'm just throwing an out of the box 700 Holley carb and single plane intake just to document the differencee!

Can you also get a fuel consumption figure for us ? That would be interesting too, to compare. Thanks.

Also a complete stand alone DFI systems goes for $3,300 to $3,800. I did everything I could to reduce the cost while still maintaining reliability and performance. When it's all said and done I think the Fuel injection will cost between $2,000 to $2,500 more then the carb version! Remember I'm including the fuel pump, regulator, harness EVERYTHING YOU NEED to run the motor! Each motor will actually be tuned and tested before the customer picks it up! Not everyone would want to pay the extra over having a carb!

Whoever it is they're barkin up the wrong tree, in my opinion. Thunder's motors have already made their case as far as I'm concerned.

That bashing always seems to come from someone that never even tried the product!

I have always tried to be respectful of another persons work/beliefs!

I may not follow your way of thinking, but if you believe and you are trying to better yourself and share your success with others, then I am impressed and would be happy to call you a friend, regardless of whether we are in agreement!

It don't really matter who's talk'in trash.
I'm not sure it could be the ones suggested above.

Don't matter none anyhow.

If they can't say it to a mans face, then thier opinion just don't matter anyhow.

If I ever break down and start wanting a car motor...
I know who I'm gonna call.

No trash talk'in will change my mind.
