Waterthunder--- jetski john boat ?

Waterthunder , I recall seeing a post where you mentioned you built a john boat with a jetski motor--- I was thinking about doing that many years ago but never got around to it.... now I'm finally thinking about doing it with an old john boat I have -- any things to watch out for ?

The boat will turn so hard it can throw you out. You will thoroughly enjoy driving it. The only other issue we had was getting the intake to draft as low as possible so we could run in very shallow water. My buddy that I helped build it was only concerned about getting into the shallow areas for fishing. It took awhile to get it trimmed but it was a rocket!

Waterthunder - You said it was hard to trim, but would it get on top in fairly shallow water?

And being very ignorant of what most of the areas ya'll are running in, what was the bottom of the waterways like, sand, clay, mud, muck?

Thanks

actual I here lots of guy talking about that. I have two yamaha wavejammers I have been keeping just for a duckboat project but when I started order my alum the other day a friend said I could have his 83 cad with a 6cyl 2.8 liter for my boat .

the john set up your talking about depends on if you use the jet pump or use a direct drive prop like mud motor and it needs to be a smaller boat to work well. I just offered one wavejammer runs good looks rough needs battery for sale on the refuge before i start parting it out if you don't have one
