Weekend weather

Yeah I don't think it will be that bad this weekend. I think it will blow over by the time Saturday gets here.

Hey ya'll,

As we've almost lost everything here a couple of times in my 21 years of livin' in collier County we have to stay put and "hold the fort down" here at home.

I'm sorry to say that the big "Southern Airboat Monthly Ride" sign won't make it in time. I was gonna UPS it today but I don't think it would make it.

Seeya on the other side, have a good ride!

Basketcase

Just saw the news this morning...Katrina took a left turn and is headed west maybe even southwest a little, they weren't sure. I guess if you live in south florida it might be a little ugly but as far as the Melbourne area, I still think right now things look ok for the ride.

By 2am Sat. the center will be entering the gulf, by 2pm Sat. it will be well off shore adjacent to Tampa.

The storm is knockin' on the door, and the ride is 48 hours away. It all looks good, and if Basket does not suffer major damage, I think we may see him, the big sign and the coleman stove on this ride.

Katrina will be already gone by the time the ride starts.

Bring some sunscreen Basketcase!

matt.

Yeah I think we should be ok here guys. Those of you down south I hope everything will be ok. Sorry it is heading your way guys.

Sounds like the weather could be better, but the threatening stuff will be mostly over. So we take cover when it rains. At least the showers are in and out and don't last long at all.

edited because someone knocked on my door when I was half done and I clicked submit instead of preview! oops.

I looked at the weather channel going from hour to hour and they have the rain to about 20-40% on Saturday from about 10-11am. I am like you, unless it goes staight up the middle of the state the I would cancel but I am there even if we don't start the ride until noon or 1 that is fine with me.

This is what I found on the weather channel web site.

Looks like they've move the path to the left a little farther. It's looking better all the time:

Rick - did you doctor up that image above?!?!! The ONLY area of the ENTIRE state that is not in the possible path is the upper St. Johns - Looks like from about the river and Hwy 50 down to Stick Marsh and beyond a little.

The ONLY place the storm is forecasted NOT to go... is the place where we ARE going!!!

:) :) :) Yes!!!

Let's hear it for overcast skies, cool weather and great riding!!!

Hey the weather here has not been as bad as they had expected today. Yes we had some rain and wind gusts but no great big squalls or downpours. Not yet anyway. We will see though. Has been nice and overcast and it feels like winter with the temp so low.

Hey just listened to an update and they said that there is a big high of dry weather pushing down and keeping alot of rain out of central florida. Just keeping you updated.

Hey ya'll,

Got the hatches "battened down here" only hope for not much rain. Checked the canal, (300 feet from the house) and S.W.F.W.M. did decide to open the wiers at the last moment. Dropped the canal 3 feet easy! Feel much better now!

As the eye of this weak, puny, little, wanna be hurricane passes over us tomorrow we'll decide at around 4 P.M. to attempt to make the drive!

I'll have the sign, coleman stove, and of course Ms. Basketcase in tow!

Hope to seee ya!
