What An Awesome Resource

Just been reading about "Orange Flags", and "Airboat Insurance", and I was struck, as I've been many times here, at what an awesome resource SA is. The exchange of information, ideas, opinions, etc. in real time is second to none.
All hail Rick for his vision, thanks to all current and future members and visitors, and long live SouthernAirboat.com

Agree, Cane.

It is this good and not all participate. I know there are many who read this site, own an airboat, but never take part. To those I say: We're still glad you're here! And if you ever have a comment, you know it'll be welcomed.

I ran into a guy on the river a few weeks ago.... I mentioned S/A to him, and his reply sort of stunned me... He said something to the effect of "I've been airboating for 30 years. I don't need that place".

I just thought it was sad that he thought he knew all there was to know, and was not willing to share the things he does know. It's not about giving away secrets. It's about getting on the same page, bring everyone up to speed, and educating the new guys so they don't piss off the old timers! LOL I'm still learning on that one. ;)

The times they are a changing. And it's great to be able to keep up with those changes right here.

Thanks Rick.

I agree too!! This site is a wonderful resource for our community. It's awesome that we can come here and find out about things that affect us all both good and bad. I wish we didn't have to rely on the web for all that we do (i.e. I just called several friends about the flag thing and none had heard the first clue about it) but at least we have a place to come and share our thoughts, hints, pripes, etc.

Thanks Rick.

I love this website, I send people here daily. There is such a wide array of opinions and views. It is a great outlet to discuss ideas and look out for one another. I enjoy reading and posting to this website. I try to be as active as possible.

I too would like to say that this web site is a tremendus source of education. I am fairly new to the airboat lifestyle and was given so much info on subjects that I had questions about that I would probably still be building my boat rather then rideing. Thanks to all that support and keep this site up and running. SAFARI RICK

One of the things I value here is that contrary or unpolular opinions are for the most part given the same deference as mainstream or popular ideas are. I have some rather NOT mainstream ideas politically about airboats and legislation but I havent been bashed or made to feel like I'm an enemy.

I say this within the limits rick MUST set for his personal protection against lible suits. In fact, I think Rick is very liberal with what he allows. I or someone else might do it differently but in the last analysis Rick is the one who put the forum up and put his money and efforts where his mouth is. That puts him a bit ahead or all the rest.

When I joined just a very few moths ago we had around 400 members now were well over 500. That speaks volumes to me. Great resource, great forum for idea interchange. It's not the software its the people that make it what it is. Rick has set the look and feel and it has worked.

Because I disagree with you does not make me your enemy. Is a theme I have always subscribed to and it seems to work here as well.

It's almost surprising it has worked here like it has. Maybe its the idea whose time has finally come in the airboat world.

Hey this website probably saved my boat and possibly my life, thanks to it I checked my prop closely and found problems and so did a buddy of mine. Thanks!!

Whitebear, we don't have to agree on anything but airboatin' .... :) .

I wish this sight was around when we built our first airboat 15 years ago--- boy have we learned from the road of hard knocks up here in Michigan.
Now I would like to see all of the members go to the Frappr Map and put a pin in it --- This too can be a good tool for us when promoting our sport in our home sates.
Thank you Rick and all that help make this the best place to spend my time.

I really appreciate the compliments, but ya'll give me way too much credit. Southern Airboat is member driven....I think that's the neatest thing about it.

We'd expect you to be modest about it Rick, but you had the foresite and will to get it started. You deserve all these compliments and more.

Aw Geez, come on now Cane. If the Boss gets a big head then he'll be wantin' to raise the Site Supporter fees ........ .

Ok BF I'll turn it down a notch or two. I still think it's worth all the effort that the members put into it. Keep telling your friends and anyone who is remotely interested in Airboats about the site.
Just a reminder too that the Broward County show is this weekend hope to see as many SA members there as possible.
