hello.. I just joined and dont have much experience with airboats.
I used to go for rides in them when I lived in Fla but thats about all.
I picked up some kind of drive at a sale. This drive belonged to a gentlman
that passed away and all his family could tell me was he wanted to build an
aeroplane and like to tinker with flight related things.
I originally thought it was for flight but with a belt drive I thought maybe not.
Maybe someone here could shed some light on this drive. Its has a 47 tooth
crank drive and a 75 tooth upper.
Thanks very much.

that is an aircraft prsu.the best way that i could tell you to figuere out what it fits is to make full size copy of the bolt pattern.they make to adapt all kinds of motors.
good luck with it. if i did the calculation right it is a 1.6 -1. but i could be off.if you search the net for aircraft prsu you might be able to narrow it down easier.

Thanks very much for the info. I`m going to do as you say and research some more.
Its has a 6 bolt crankshaft pully and the only thing that comes to mind with that is chrysler V-8. I just couldnt imagine going airborn with a big old V-8 and a belt drive, but hey...i`m no expert.
Thanks allot.

Heck, they got experimental airplanes that have a ford 460 big block motor flying around.
