Alot of mixed reviews I’m not used to running a 209 I usually run a 268 although I already have this box so for the time being, it’s gotta work unless somebody wants to trade me!! I’m looking to spend the motor between five and 5500 It’s a 383 dont care about speed inwant the push .

Good guess would be a 2-blade R or similar. Add a blade if you switch to 2.68. Seen this combo on a ZZ 383 quite a bit here in Nebraska back in the day.

Hello James,

I think the 2.09 ratio is a great choice in several applications, especially for a 383 engine. It's not the quietest ratio, but it will be a great performer for you. If you want to be able to run up to 5500 engine RPMs, I would recommend our 3-blade CarbonMax™ 2.0 in 78" diameter (12" wide blades). This propeller is in stock and ships free via UPS Ground to the lower 48 states.

The max propeller RPM for the CarbonMax™ 2.0 blade style is 2700 RPM, and with your 383 turning 5500 and the 2.09 reduction ratio this would be 2630 propeller RPM. But you don't have to turn it up that high either, you can set it to stop your engine right at 5000 RPM if you prefer, and the propeller will still be in the peak efficiency RPM range, which means it will be making peak lbs of thrust per HP that your engine is putting out at your chose WOT engine RPM.
