what should i do

I got my boat put to gether today. Took it out for the first time, but have a small problem.I have 520 A/C, my problem is when my rpm hits about 1400 it starts to studder, then on it is great also my low rpm is fine. its just around 1400 where my problem is. Thank guys for any help on what i should do.

What kind of 520 carb or fuelie?

it is a CARB I should of also said that i was having carb problems, it was not getting fuel took me about thirty minutes to an hour to get it started but it would start and then shut off over and over then it back fired then it was fine except around 1400

I'd say it is definitely a mag problem, could have water in them or they're arching inside.

I had a really rough shudder between 1600 and 2200 only. Turned out to be my prop.

Nevermind, I thought you said shudder instead of studder. Sounds electrical.

yea i also got take some pitch out turning 2700 and it is on 3 gegree mark almost i have a 3 blade sensenich

Could be trash in the main jet in the carb.

Is it running like that with the air cleaner on ? Try running w/o the air cleaner.

Another thing to try is with the motor running at low rpm put your hand over the carb opening and give it some gas, this might blow out stuff that might be in the main jet.

my air cleaner is off i will give that a try before i do anything else
