WHAT TO USE IN A SPRAYER

OK I was wondering what kind of soap you would use in a sprayer.

Simple Green , because it's biodegradable? But the cost of a gallon is a little high.

Dish soap, you can get it cheap but is it enviro friendly?

How about liquid hand soap I can get it in the gallon jug from work for free...sometimes.

OK time for some input.

A1, go over to Dollar General and get one of those big jugs of biodegradable dish detergent for about $3 bucks. If anyone has a problem with it, tell em you were just cleanin' the frogs before you stuck 'em ..... .

By it's nature, soap does kill insects. It breaks the surface tension of the water, and technically drowns them pretty fast. - ( try it - spray water on a bug, then spray soapy water on a bug) But it takes a pretty high concentration to break the surface tension to kill a bug. Besides, you're spraying it where there is not water - that's why you spray it! I'm interested to see if some LEO's try to use that argument.

I use a cheap stuff from the auto parts store - car wash concentrate. Comes in a gallon bottle - it's probably the same stuff as dish soap but without the scent. I figure it degrades enough to use on your front lawn once a week, it's good enough for the marsh grass once in a while.

I won't do anything to the marsh that I won't do to my own home or yard.

If there is a law against sprayers - I'd like to see them beat that logic. If there is a law against sprayers - it needs to be changed or clarified to specify what lube is being used.

I got a warning ticket for a sprayer, coming out of lone cabbage. It was sherriff deputy.

BS......just talked with the FWC in charge of airboats in Tallahassee, he encourages sprayers since they cut down on noise, Forgot his name, but I can find out for you.

Beer is the best thing for a sprayer, people can't even stand up after spraying it in its concentarted form, just for you rich LOL

Seriously find that name that way it could avoid a ticket especially if we can get them to write it down for us.

That would work out great, I've got a ball valve that lets me meter the soap to the sprayers. I Like the idea of having clean water to spray out of my 25' hose, that's where the valve comes in. I can clean the deck, take a shower or what ever. I can also run soap to it to help out someone that needs a little help like at the pasture at Lake George with you know who. Names have been changed to protect the insane... I mean the innocent.

CNTRy you beat me to the punch on that one........just make sure it is past the born on date before it goes to waste..

That is major alcohol abuse......I'm with you rich, however, I don't think I have ever let beer sit around that long.

Never see a sign stating that around here. I've check on line and can not find anything that says that you can't ...around here.

Alot of the egg collection boys run sprayers as well. They FWC alligator management runs a mixture of dish soap and vegetalble oil with water. But as someone mentioned in the upper st. Johns they are not allowed. However, by the same token I think a bilge pump is probably illegal. I believe the rule reads something like any device capable of emmitting a polutant. (or something like that)

http://www.myfwc.com 2006 wma handbook upper st johns. it is in public access and vehicles #11 the possession or use of any device capable of discharging, emittingspray,or introducing any pollutants, with the intentof enhancing the mobility of airboats, is prohibited. that sucks , i wanted to get sprayer! glad i found that before i put the money out there. plus drilled hole in the front of my boat.
