Where's Airboattrader.com???

Des Moines Boater

This site and Airboattrader.com are two of my favorite sites. I guess they're down but I hope they get back up soon. I need to replace my hull later this year or over the winter. The guy I bought mine from put plastic on the bottom with about 500 screws into the fiberglass hull. I'm sure it's a matter of time before the hull cracks and comes apart. It only has a 17 inch transom, which is scary in deep water.

I'm looking for a good fiberglass boat 12 x 7 with 20 inch sides or more at the transom. I don't want any that has had polymer screwed to it. One with a pancake cage would be a plus too. How much are new ones?

You migh PM or email Predator airboats and ask for the details on their glass hull. It sure looks like a beauty.

My plan for my hull is to either set it on fire or sell it. I'd hate to burden someone with a hull that is old and falling apart. The screw holes for the polymer have weakened the boat and it would cost more than the boat is worth to try to fix it. Plus it is an 11-6 boat that only has a 17 inch transom. Not enought transom for deep water for me.

The O-320 was built by Outlaw Aircraft Engines and it sure is sweet. I just need a different hull. I still run up and down the Des Moines River every night and it's a ball. You got to love what you got and hope you can do better. That's for boats only.

If you are going to burn it talk to me first... had a strange thought that a little airboat hull like that would make a pretty cool sandbox for my little boy. He is 2 1/2 and a bigger airboat freak than I am. Every day it's... I wanna go for a boat ride daddy. Which is perfect for me cause any excuse to go for a ride :)

I'll let you know. I have a guy who wants to buy the whole thing but I hate to give up this engine. It'll be a while before I do anything but I'll let you know.

I sure like those Predator hulls, but none look deep enough for me. I sank this one once just putting it in the water at the ramp because the transom is so small and the ramp was so steep. I go a little slower now but it still is scary.

If you are looking for a new hull there are a couple of places here in Nebraska that build a nice fiberglass hull. Whitetail Airboats in Snyder, Ne and Excalibur Airboats in Cedar Bluffs, Ne. Might be worth a try. I personally like the Excalibure hulls but I know Jay personally so I am bias. Check out Whitetailairboats.com
