I have been using and selling Terminator's for quite a while now and i am very happy with them and they are the most durable one i have dealt with had a customer catch a 4x4 off a sea wall that was sticking out and hit it on the outer end and it cut off 2 18" pieces of the wood and not even put a ding in it and myself i ran a aluminum aircleaner through mine and all it did was scratch it they have great push on the bottom end

Flatz Honky - Sorry, but I'm not sure what the problem is. If voting for this poll is not an option after logging in, the program must think that you've already voted. It only allows one vote per user.

Tick, your probably right, although I never voted to begin with. I am computer stupid anyhow! However, I need to say....Sure is alot of times the site has been "viewed" as to the percentage of folks that voted. I say that because this is an awsome website. One of the better I've seen. I personally would like to see this'in take off. Viewer and user participation is a must. Sorry took so long to answer ya, been out'a state for a few... Now I say personally, being around airboats since I was a baby, in the glades, that I still prefer a wood blade prop. Not that it's any better than others. It's just that to me, an "original" Florida sled was a car motor with a wood prop. Then as the years went by, aircraft motors and composite props came into play. I reckon one is as good as the other, however for originality sakes, you have my opinion...

I have a whirlwind prop.( super duty) 4 blades 84". This is set at 12 , on a 502 2 to 1 belt. Are the new psr blades better pushers. It would be nice to see someone test them all that you could trust. It would be nice to know the #of props every one is running. I want a prop. that has alot of low end push . My prop. seem to come on at about 4200 rpm. Any help would be a big help.

The psr blades are for Powershift and Sensenich hubs. The blades you are thinking of are probably the Stump Puller blades. The stump puller blades are supposed to be wider and a better airfoil design for a lower noise signiture and more push. I have been researching props for a while now and Whirl Wind is the prop I will be going with. I haven't had experience with either but the info is fresh in my mind. Just thought I'd try to explain the difference.

I talk to the people at power shift today, they sure think they have the only prop. that work out there. They sure like to bad mouth all other props. It would be hard for me to buy one of their props. I do not like their sale pitch. Is there not some one that has tested them all, and has poted the number. I can not believe that the difference between them all is very much. Hope to hear from some one soon.

Well I like whirlwind composite I had a 80" 3 blade but it will now be a 78" 3 blade due to it cutting my cage into peices when the stock motor mounts broke so much for the saftey ears on them I will now trust chain and turnbuckle. I am going to upgrade to the stump puller blades robably go with the 78" dia 3 blade. I run a 383 stroker small block with a 2.09 stinger box. Oh yeah I am gonna go to some better mounts also. Ya'll take care ..... "SPINNIN MONEY" see ya on the lake

Ran Chevy 350's (ZZ4 crate engines) and Lycoming 0540 (angle and parallel valves) only.

Have only experience with PowerShift on the 350's and PowerShift and Sensenich on the Lycomings.

Love the Sensenich, on one we are taking a deep pitch bite to get more thrust at lower rpms. Can cruise at 1400 with 2 people in the boat. Just don't have a hole shot that is going to impress anyone. On the other 2 boats with the Sensenich (3 blade) and PowerShift (2 blade) cannot really call which is best.

There used to be some websites with preformance numbers of several of the types. I remember that Sensenich (3 blade) and Powershift (2 blade) produce about the same thrust roughly with a Lycoming 0540 with blades pitched to max out at around 2700.

Know some boys in LA that run warp drives on 0540s. They claim they get more snap or quick rev ups with those, which help get the light hulls unstuck and manuvering fast. Have heard they have to watch the pitch due to it changing over time.

Those Whirl Winds look alot like Sensenich.

Terminator is a new brand to me.

Don't know anything about either.

I would like to try some props. is there any one out there that would let you try a few. It seem like no one has run the in a test. It to bad airboat world magazine doesn't have the guts to do it, I guess they don't want to get some people mad at them, magzines that are advertising everyone props.sure could be alot of help if they wanted too. If the props. co. send me one of there Iwould post the numbers. It seem like most airboater don't want to help out to much for fear someone boat would run better. Bottom line is money talks and bull walks.

No one prop is the best at everything! I have run the Whirlwind, Sench, Terminator, WarpDrive and the Powershift props on a 620hp small block, 835hp small block and an 850hp big block. For the best all around prop that performs great at racing and low end push the Powershift rules. The whirlwind doesn't have the quick hit and neither does the Terminator. I tested all of them back to back. However their all good props the only one I have ever had a problem with is the wide Blade Sench but they have since resolved their issues. I have also found if you have a weaker or less responsive motor the Warpdrive works great plus you can pick used ones up cheap. Remember all the thrust test numbers are worthless information. They take a motor unlike what you own and hold it wide open and measure max thrust. The Whirlwind and Terminator will win that type of test but who cares. This type of thrust tests does not tell you how long it takes to reach the point of maximum thrust. A more usable test would be the duration of thrust over time in other words how quickly and where does a prop develop it’s thrust. The props that develop more thrust tend to take longer to reach that point. In the same time a prop that makes a little less thrust in half the time has already left you behind. I have owned just about all of them and found the high thrust a Powershift gives you quickly is by far the best performing prop for a ride or race boat that is under 14ft. However if you run a guide boat with 10 people you need a prop that develops higher max thrust numbers. So it truly comes down to what your individual needs are. All I can tell you is don’t a prop that somebody says is the best for everything because they are lying to you.

I've had experience with Warpdrive, Powershift, & Whirlwind Props. Not much with wood though. They are all good props, but my favorite by far is a Warpdrive. The big blade composites are great for cruising & don't take as much RPM to keep a boat at plane when going at slow speeds as a Warpdrive does. But I believe the Warpdrive is a much more snappier prop & it makes static thrust really fast, which is great for taking off fast or manipulating a boat quickly around obsticles & curves.(on water or land)I've heard the big blade props are supposed to get better milage, but that hasn't been the case with my applications. When I've been asked my opinion on how the Powershift & Whirlwind compare to a Warpdrive my honest answer is that the former is like driving a Caddillac (nice and smooth all through the powerband) & the later is like driving a Corvette.(snappy, quick thrust that will pin you to the seat when you take off) Both styles are great. It all comes down to what your preference & application is.

All we have to do is find the most quite prop that works the best and dose not cost alot

Rick,

You know my short time runnin the boat! Haven't ran a "stick" prop but definately like my Sensenich blade better than the Powershift, (seem like better "snap" out of the hole and quieter).

I am in need of a new prop. Currently running a 72x38 wood on Direct drive 18x8 airgator. Engine is a 455 olds with torquer cam. Boat is definetly heavy and I usually run with 3 passengers and gear. She runs well with two people but when loaded runs well in shallow water but struggles in deep water. With a boat this size I know I should propably be running a gear box but for now I want to stay with direct drive. Called warp drive company and they recommended a 72" 4 blade for this motor. Would really appreciate some advice towards my next prop. What prop would you recommend? No other airboats up here to compare notes with.

My first suggestion would be a 74" Powershift Signatuer series. I have personally seen alot of these props and they run well on 500 caddy's out here in the glades. There is a member on here running a Sensenich Q series prop on a 455 and claims it runs great. I have heard good things about the Whirlwind Stump Puller props, 72-74", hear they have good thrust numbers, maybe a little slower spinning up but you don't have a race boat. A warp drive would be my last choice for a prop for your application IMHO.
