why no oil/air seperator on airboats?

just wondering why most airboats with aircraft engines do not have an air/oil seperator on them? seems like it would not take long to recoupe the cost of one at 4 bucks a quart for aeroshell. most of the oil lost goes out the crank case vent, i am no tree hugger but would also help the enviroment. just wondering.

Speed Wheelie makes a nice stainless one. I just put one on my 220 GPU, it helps.

where does the second small line come from? my 0540 only has one big line

sorry, guess it would be the oil return line back to the engine, where would that return line go on an 0540?

and lastly , how much was it and a phone number?

I have one on my 220 GPU and it works fine. I ran the return oil line to a plastic bottle so I could see how much oil I put out. I just pour the oil back into the engine when it gets full. I have clear plastic hoses also for the vent lines. I noticed the final vent line after the separator still had milky white oil coming out, so, I added a second oil separator to capture any oil still going out. Now the final vent line is nothing but moisture. No milky white stuff. After 50 hours with the second oil separtor line I still haven't collected more than an ounce of oil. Therefore, there is no need for two oil separators but I had to know. Here's mine with the single unit.

thanks guys, i did find an allen head plug on the driver side of the block below the mag, looks like a fine spot for the return, its about a 1/2" plug facing out toward the header, forgot to call on the seperator today, will do that tomorrow, anyone else got any pics of one installed on their 0540?
