Why not aluminum?

Why doesn't anyone offer an aluminum airboat propeller?

Aluminum props have been around since the 30's, you'd think someone would have put one on an airboat by now.

Would be awful hard to damage........... :|

The carbon fiber props are superior to the aluminum because they are lighter and less likely to have a harmonics problem.

The last airplane I had had a O360 with an aluminum prop. It had an rpm that it vibrated and was redlined not to operate there. I think it was 1800.

A lot of the newer aerobatic airplanes have composite props for that reason. The gyroscopic loads from the tumbling manuevers can break the crank. The same loads are created when the boat is bouncing around.
