if you you have 149 tooth flywheel Power master part #604. 11 tooth starter gear. They are 12 bucks from summit. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pwm-604
if you have 122 tooth flywheel u need a 9 tooth starter gear. dont know the part number but im sure it available from summit also.

Looking for blank cover for o320 accessory housing for where the vacuum pad goes in top right corner. Can it just be flat aluminum plate? Looks like there couple oil passageways didn’t want to block anything...

Bench checking magnetos
I trying to check a pair of mags for this motor i have. they came in a box of parts with motor. one is an impulse mag and one is not. the straight mag when i hold it with glove and spin it with a drill it get real strong spark on 3 of the 4 sockets to the case. never fires on the 4th port. that mag ...

Re: MA-4SPA 10-3678-32 Parts Diagram/List
that list you posted says the float should be 30-766, the float that is intnhe bag of parts that looks like were removed from the carb is a 30-628 and there is a box with a brand new float with a part number 30-804...

Re: Building a 70k airboat
What I'm trying to understand is if you go out and have a super nice, super fancy, super expensive spit shined Airboat then what use is it to you other than to show off for once you spend that kind of money on an Airboat your hardly going to put it in the water and if you do your going to be scared...

Re: O435 oil temperature / relief valve
I meant to write 3- 1/2" ports. 2 returns to the sump and one pressure port from the pump. The2 that return to the sump are just threaded ports that dump directly back into the the sump.

Re: O435 oil temperature / relief valve
Yes. there’s an oil port that runs from acc housing to the sump. I’ll look at a 360 I’ve got apart to see if that exists on a 4cyl. The wrong acc housing or wrong gasket could cover that hole. Crazymatt, can you get us more pics of your front case? And where your cooler lines are connected. That ac...

Re: O435 oil temperature / relief valve
for the time being i think i am going to put the original heavier spring back in and add some lucas oil stabilzer to the oil to try to thicken it up someuntil i get some time to pull the jugs. this may let me ride a little longer before having to stop to let it cool down. im just worried with the li...

Re: timing mags/ snapping the impulse coupling
Just a question. Does that 435 have a vernatherm or the spring and plunger? Problems with either will cause hot oil. Lack of flow to the cooler etc. I’m sure you’ve shot the pan to check that the gauge is telling the truth. no vernatherm, uses spring and plunger. i put pressure gauge in cooler line...

Re: O435 oil temperature / relief valve
i put a lighter spring in there have not tried it yet, going to change oil and run it, but im having some suspicions and i dont want to run it and starve the bearings of oil by redirecting the reduced amount they maybe getting to the oil cooler.... might need to pull the 3 jugs on the right side and...

Re: O435 oil temperature / relief valve
Ran the boat today went from Florence all way to halfway lake before it hit 230. Oil leak is fixed but oil is still heating up. Oil pressure is good. Going to try lighter spring in the oil cooler valve and see what happens and put fresh oil in it

Re: O435 oil temperature / relief valve
The motor should be tight! The motor doesn't have more than 10 hrs of tach time since being overhauled. Crank was cleaned up to standard within tolerances, rods were overhauled and fresh grind cam and lifters from d&s Camshafts. All 6 cylinders were overhauled by mark at don George's shop. New r...

Re: O435 oil temperature / relief valve
Again this motor does not use a vernatherm / temperature to open and close the valve to the oil cooler. It has a spring loaded bypass valve for the oil cooler and then also has an auxiliary oil pressure relief valve in the block. The spring in both valves is the same (p/n 65703) It says it opens at ...

Re: O435 oil temperature / relief valve
Update on what has been done and I have found. I lowered my timing to 22 btdc as suggested to try by gmac. I put 2 ball valves and a pressure gauge inline with my oil cooler so I could moniter the pressure and also cut off flow to the cooler and crack the other ball valve to see flow through the cir...

Re: timing mags/ snapping the impulse coupling
thank you all again for the input. been so busy lately havent had time to get to the river to screw with it! first i will try as it is and take my ir gun and see what the cylinder temps are and also temp in and out of the oil cooler. then possibly try lowering the timing on the mags.

Carb is a 4-5 model number 10-2518. After a search here you posted about this carb in the past. See this post: viewtopic.php?t=69713
Do you think it's possible this carb isn't enough for my setup now.

Re: timing mags/ snapping the impulse coupling
if it run a go-480 without heating up then I would bet it is all right for your 435.....I was just thinking that there are several 4-5 carbs that would bolt right up but would not be enough for the 435 but if ya got a number that will tell ya what engine that carb is for and then there will be no q...

Re: timing mags/ snapping the impulse coupling
I have found that when ya start frankeinsting engines with different cyls, cams, compression ratios, carburetors etc that a slight retard in timing helps in several ways...I have my modified 0-360 set at 22 degress btdc and it preforms much better, runs cooler and starts better than at 25 degrees......
