Would it be possible to post a picture of a mold used to build a blade? Maybe a series of pictures of the process.

AwlGrip is the best of the best. Nason is a good single stage that doesn't cost what Awl Grip cost. Not sure what you mean by didn't hold up. Not stay shinny or not wear good. The Awl Grip will wear better and the shine last almost forever. If your going to go with gel coat I would use a product by ...

Thats what happens when you don't grind all the gelcoat off before you glass it in. Hope that's not how your stringer was put in.

Re: Need help figurung out what egine I have

Nice. Go easy with it and don't be in a hurry to take friends and family with you. Find someplace shallow and get the hang of it. Just remember, you can't turn without power, always have some in reserve for the unexpected. You also have to be aware where your prop blast is going. When you take off m...

Well now you've done it,your going to be hooked. Looks like a IO470. Good strong dependable engine. Does it run? Whats the rest of the boat look like? Hopefully you get with someone that can get you up to speed on the do and don'ts and take you somewhere shallow to start having some fun.

Re: Thrust bearings? Aircraft vs. Automotive

Aircraft engine was designed for a prop and a car engine was designed for a transmission. Its not just thrust that hammers away at it its a side motion that also takes a toll on it. Look at the size of a aviation nose bearing and compare that to a rear main on a car engine.

Re: Continental IO360

It's better than the 0360. Lycoming is 180 and continental is 210. The lycoming is a lot cheaper to rebuild and a lot easier. But the continental is a sweet running engine.

Once a little rust starts and a pit forms cam wear goes pretty quick. Lycomings are more prone to do it too.
