Re: 0470 PERFORMANCE HELP??

Start with pistons, 10 to one is going to bump it up and you don't have to split the case. Pacemaker ignition will let you play with some timing issues. Cam if you want to split the case. As old as the 470 - 13 is might be a good id Jurnigan Engines can help you with parts. There is someone on here ...

Re: 0470 PERFORMANCE HELP??

How big is the boat? Why didn't you ask your cert. aircraft mechanic friends? The 470 -13 is a old workhorse. Never thought of it as a hot rod.

Re: Gravity Feed Gas Tank

You can go with a smaller gravity tank, with a larger bottom tank. Simple transfer pump to raise the fuel. Either hand or electric.

I would not like the tank there. Don't think it would get hot, but it would obstruct air to the prop.

Is the boat made of stainless or just a sheet. I know someone that has removed stainless from a few boats. Plugged holes with rivets. Some got steel flex, I think one got poly.

I used them on my last trailer and I use them on a 20 foot seacraft. I like how low they sit and only have trouble with them when they get low on air.

Depends on material you use. 6061 you can use. 7075 is too hard. It will crack if you weld it. 7075 isn't as bad at bending. The tool you asked about is a cleco.

Re: Bosch jigsaw blade broke and stuck???

I have this same jig saw and love the way it cuts. Most of the time when I break a blade I just loosen it up good and pull the trigger and it comes out. When it does't tweezers usually work. Try the biggest cotter key you can get in it and turn.. Maybe try to break it loose with a ice pick.

Re: Fuel pump, electrical or mechanical?

What you really need to do is to not run ethanol. That motor will treat you right a lot longer with proper fuel.
