Re: 3A shut down coming soon

Scotty1 sounds good. I will let you know if I hear anything about the water or the frog situation. I am sure all these changes with the water flow will have its issues but hopefully we don’t have another deer kill like they had in the 90’s. Time will tell. With any luck the tribe will keep it open a...

Re: 3A shut down coming soon

Hey Scotty! How are you doing? Hope all is well. Some of our members are headed out this weekend to clean up and ride before the possible shutdown. I won't make it this time but should be out in the next month or so. Hope to see you out there at some point. Have you been out lately? Any frogs?

Re: 3A shut down coming soon

If you can, please send Mr Mast an e-mail asking him if he cares about the wildlife down here or his wildlife is more important up there. Here's a link to his e-mail--https://mast.house.gov/email John[/quote] Not to worry! Once all the polluted water comes out in Everglades National Park and makes i...

Re: Unloading airboat

A friend of mine who is around 75 years young just installed poly strips on his trailer bunks. Before he had them he could not drop the boat with or without water by himself. Now he can slide the boat off by himself loaded on to dry ground from the trailer no problem. It's an inexpensive fix compare...

Re: Lookin For Miccosukee Res, and 3A South Froggin info

Water to the south towards 41 is good. The ridge between the swimming hole and the Hilton is starting to show dry spots but still very accessible. Getting into the swimming canal is fine but starting to bump rocks on the edge. No grinding just a few bumps no big deal. Off L28 on the reservation wate...

Re: Lookin For Miccosukee Res, and 3A South Froggin info

Water levels as of 01/02/19 off L28 are low. Water in the main trails, still safe to enter and exit the canal at the tower and 1st swimming hole. The inside trail from general g's is dries up right before the pea soup camp. Not sure how much longer the area will be usable without some rain. As of no...

Re: AVGas in Broward County

Apparently from what the Sunoco manager told me he has no control over what grades and types of fuel he sells. They recently swapped out his race fuel pump for E-85 which he said does not sell. Now they are switching out the Avgas pumps for who knows what. The Miccosukee service station on I-75 no l...

Re: Lookin For Miccosukee Res, and 3A South Froggin info

Update as of 12/19 Water level still low but had no problem putting in off L28 and getting to camp. Plenty of water in the main trails. Frogs are calling for rain so we are headed back out after Christmas and staying until New Years. :toothy7:

No we didn’t do good at all. I think the frogs are all down south closer to 41 already. The fishing was great though. :)

Hey Scotty, We went out from the 1st until the 4th. Sorry we didn’t get a chance to visit. Just me and Scott cleaning up the camp and trying to do some frogging. Alternator on the boat had other plans but still did a good bit of day riding out to the east. I will keep you posted on the water situati...

Re: Lookin For Miccosukee Res, and 3A South Froggin info

Water is getting low. Water in the main trails but dry spots are starting to pop up at the landing. Water is 1 ft lower than this time last year. As of 12/04 still a nice ride pretty much everywhere. Tons of roseate spoonbills all over and the fishing is great! Going back out for 5 days or so next w...

Re: Lookin for a water check

Checked Eden 6 and its up to 10.5 we are normally still sliding without issue at 9.5. I doubt it will hold but there should be plenty of water this weekend. One of our camp members will be going this weekend off L-28 I will get back with what he finds. :old_glory:

Has anyone had any luck running a dd with a warp drive prop. Looking at the used props in the classifieds to try and pick the best one. I am partial to the warp drive because its very tough.

4.3 DD Prop

Anyone have a 4.3 DD setup?? Putting a boat together and wondered if anyone has a favorite prop. The engine is a vortec marine engine with an RV cam and its 262hp. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :old_glory:

Lwells: The engine checks out fine and runs just as it did before. I am going to keep things fair. Oil change, spark plugs, and fuel replacement. I am happy with how they are handling the situation so at the end of the day all is well. After talking to my aircraft mechanic it seems like a rebuild is...

Re: Diesel Contaminated Aviation Fuel

The way I was taught to check the fuel when I learned to fly was to put some one you finger . Smell it for diesel. Then rub you fingers together if it feels greasy then you have diesel or jet A That is a great method and its exactly how the contamination was first discovered. Avgas will also turn a...

Re: Lycoming 4 cyl cruising rpm

It sounds like a power to weight ratio issue. Most setups with those particular engines are on 12ft and smaller boats. I run a 0-320 on a 10ft hull and it planes out at around 1200 to 1300 rpm with two people. I cruise between 1300 and 1500 with no wind at a speed of 20+mph. Running with a load to t...
