CHange cap and coil, boat fires right up and runs great. Question though, spark looks weak when plug is remove...

Belt Drive and Motor mount question

I bought a used airgator from Faron a couple of years agao, and I am having a blast. Quick question, one of the motor mounts is broken, is it most likely a standard motor mount from a car/truck, or special application. 96 model 454 with 2:1 belt drive. Also, I know to grease the belt drive, but was ...

backfire was out the pipes. I'll check the cap and rotor and go from there. Boat sits at a friends house, as i live in town and going through a dvorce, so it may be a while before I can verify. THanks for all the ideas.

454 won't start, distributor got wet, and I hope that is the problem. What all needs to be dried out in the MSD distributor? Any recommendations on what to use?

454 specifications/tuning

OK, old FORD gearhead here, just to clarify. Got a 96 454, running sluggish, backfiring yesterday. I took aricleaner off today, seems much better. Still a little sluggish, but could have been that way all along, just paying closer attetntion after running bad yesterday. That being said, can you expe...

My carb cover had a big crack in it, I think this is the source of the water. I have since changed oil twice, put atf in oil, ran for 30 minutes, and changed oil again. I fixe...

forgot to mention, lifter was always quiet until after running under a load for a while. Also, running rotella 15-40, and the drained oild sure looks thinned down, event though it only has 3 hours on it, that is after oild change afer water was in it....

I changed the oil, and added ATF.......lifter is quiet even after engine is warmed up. I have a 2 hr trip to water, so will not have a chance to try it after working engine. Should I just run it a while on the trailer and then change oil, or run it on next trip(teal Season)?
