Re: Rebuilding the caddy

MHO tear it completely down. Wash everything and immediately spray with wd40. If its rusty and won't clean up replace it. Minor surface rust can be removed with whink rust remover. Wash the block really good with the water hose and clean out all oil passages.(its best to have it hot tanked) Spray wi...

Re: SUNK.

This is a very true statement with anything in life and even (LIFE) too can be prolonged as long as you have the money to do it! The boat was built by man and can be rebuilt by man. I did not have a ply wood boat like Ike Lee, my modern boat was galvanized with a 65 Lycoming and the zink was worn of...

I called and talked to 11B.... I also called and talked to Karry (KOWENS) for about 45 min.... I was going to go out their with my son and try to help get it out. After talking to Karry it might be better for him to cut his losses. I would personally donate funds for a different boat. They could not...

With that said, there are several different opinions about aluminum vs fiberglass...my question is why aren't glass airboats used more here in Texas? Again, thank you for the advice. I hope to get out on the water soon...hopefully we will have a nice day without 30 mph wind in the near future. I wi...

Re: pulling my hair out

Well your coolant temp is low most of the time it will go into open loop below 190F. Do you have a thermostat installed in the intake? You would get a fuel spike if you are going from closed loop to open loop. From the picture that I see you are in open loop. The integrator and block learn are equal...

Re: LS 1 makes a popping sound......

Is it popping through the Carb or the Exhaust. If it is popping through the Carb it might be a Exhaust valve sticking or like the others said floating valves. If it is popping through the Exhaust could be a problem with the Carb or a problem with the ignition.

I want to say a special thanks to Craig Alias Captain Kid he is also 18 Panther. I volunteered to take volunteers out to plant sea grass on small islands that were dredged up from the bottom off the coast of Portland Texas. I launched my boat and warmed it up by going around a few of the islands. Bo...

I chased a similar problem on a SBC for a year and nearly tore my hair out....Then Brotherbob sent me an article on timing...direct vacuum vs. ported vacuum specifically. I couldn`t wait to get home and check where I was hooked up. Sure enough I was on ported, and I moved it to direct ( below the b...
