Re: Toyota's Flogging

I think the welfare "entitlement" mentality is the same in the abusers of welfare as in the hard core union workers. They feel they are "entitled" to something so strongly, that they can't see that it's breaking the bank that feeds them. And in both cases, the people who originally set it up, have ...

Re: Toyota's Flogging

Wow, Waterthunder! Those are some very impressive quotes. Our forefathers sure had a lot of foresight. Those men were so full of wisdom, and it's hard for me to fathom how we went from them to Barrack Hussein Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of the gaggle of idiots in Washington. I pray...

Re: Toyota's Flogging

Ford and Dodge outsourcing jobs and opening plants in Mexico just so they can save money and not pay higher wages to U.S. workers, Do you really believe they're opening plants in Mexico because they're greedy and just don't want to pay fair wages to Americans? That is NOT the case. I really wish th...

Toyota's Flogging

Wow! The times, they are a changin’! Remember when every America hating liberal would buy only foreign cars, and look down their noses at those of us who bought American made “junk”? Back when GM was the liberal’s archenemy? I wonder how confused many of them are today as they watch Toyota take a pu...

If we're missing the point it's because we were led astray by your question.

Re: jurnigan motor

A friend of mine had an O-540 that was setup to run pump gas, and it ran great for a year or so. Then it got to where every time he did a lot of dry running it would start to chatter and run like poop. When he backed off and let it cool down it would run fine again. He took it to his mechanic who sh...

Re: Is this a good 1st boat

I wouldn't recommend that boat for a beginner. It may be a fine boat, but my guess is that it will be a bit top heavy with such a large motor on a small hull. I'd look for something a little more stable for a first time boat owner. JMO

Hatchineha 1. Citgo: If you're traveling south on Hwy 27 from Haines City you'll see a Citgo on your left as you're coming into Lake Hamilton. Approximately a mile or two past the intersection of SR 544. 2. Wally's Sunoco: If you continue south on Hwy 27 into Dundee and turn left at the Hardees (SR...

Re: Heavy equipment work ?

Unions got their good and bad points like all organizations. My wife is in CWA and it has helped on several occasions with transfers and some other issues. "All organizations" aren't running our industries into bankruptcy, and driving our jobs overseas. Our companies cannot compete in a global econ...

Re: Heavy equipment work ?

IMO, unions are nothing more than organized crime. They produce NOTHING, and demand EVERYTHING! Everything for themselves, that is! Let's take the UAW for example; The average non-union auto worker in the south makes $2.00 per hour more than the average UAW worker in Detroit. They're driving the Ame...

Re: prop a/v 540

I run an A/V IO-540 with a 78" 3 "H" blade Sensenich. jdotson gave you some good advice. 2750 is a better RPM to be at. I used to have mine pitched to turn 2850 on the trailer, which meant it turned about 2950 on the water. When I pitched it back to 2750 on the trailer I instantly noticed the differ...

Re: Steering Question

In Florida the vast majority of steering bars are on the left side of the driver. With that setup it would be (forward = right) & (back = left). If you choose to put the bar on the right side it would be just the opposite.

That's ok, Scotty. We were surviving fine before all those turds decided to move to Florida. I reckon we'd do just fine without them. As a matter of fact, we could turn Florida back into a great place to "VISIT".

I hear ya, Plum. The first time I ate an MRE I thought 'Wow, they sure have come a long way from the old rations.' But, after a month of MRE's I was sick to death of them. Luckily, we have chow halls (sorry, I mean DFAC's) on all the camps now. So, no more MRE's. The food is actually pretty good whe...
