Keep in mind 0470 jugs fit the GPU without boring the case... 520 jugs will require boring the case... not a huge deal.... but you will have to find a machine shop to do it...
Good Luck

Re: Riding in Citrus Co
Hi Lariat There are 3 pools out in Citrus county.... the Hernando pool.... the Inverness pool... and the Floral city pool ..... it would bea lot to see it all in one trip. All 3 connect for an Airboat via Airboat jumps.... Hernando has a ramp just off Highway 200/ 41 split .. Behind the Ace Hardware...

Re: 70” or 72” WW on a 220
I would choose the 72 for mor push.... plus if you modify the engine with Aircraft cylinders even 0470 cylinders would be better off with the 72”

Paul has left his mark on Airboating and left it for the better. He did beautiful work and was a great guy on top of that. His boats will carry his legacy on for many years.

Hello
Take a look at the forum tab, go to the “safety” forum there is a post called “must haves” that’s a good read. Also check out the “do and don’t handbook”
Good luck

I got an AGS and love it.... aircraft. Side poly is good for Airboat slides. I got a short rake and the deck extension.... LED nav lights in the take. The AGS planes fast.... and planes at a slow speed.... turns good also. Mine does not hop... and I don’t have a trim tab. I was able to work the moto...

Re: Rivermaster Hull
I will try to give a fair answer here.... first a Rivermaster is a good running hull. Only inspection will tell if this particular hull is in good shape. A healthy 305 will run OK in deeper water, the issue is dry running. Airboating is a disease.... that makes one want more and more power.... you m...

They certainly live up to their name....
Never spend a dime in there again after they destroyed AR’s last time.... sadly I used them in the past never again.
We have to “vote” with our dollars

I have a buddy that hunts in Alaska with an Airboat... he has a 4 stroke kicker that pushes his boat in deep water and when he needs the push of an Airboat he fires up the 502 Chevy... the kicker motor is a 30 hp.... yes it is slow but the kicker hardly burns fuel.... he drops off 55 gal drums going...

Re: Tube bending dies - center line radius?
A lot of us simply use conduit benders.... 1/2”.....3/4”...... and 1”. This works for simple bends quite well Harbor Freight has a wheel bender that would work for hoops or make a plywood form. Simple & cheap just like me! If you search hoops there is a topic on hoops it has pictures Good luck A...

Re: Aluminum vs fiberglass hull
Fiberglass is easier to fix. Aluminum is stronger and better for rocks.... but it will bend. T6061 alloy hills can be welded so they are “fixable” if that is a word? Had both.... Aluminum hull runs great ... better than my Old Laser glass hull.... which also ran great. New hull is an Alumatech.... m...

Look and see if you have oil leaking around the head .... sounds like a separated head.
See if you can make it move on the cylinder.....
Better yet do a leak down test
Good luck

Re: 470 conversion???????confused
0470 angle valve cylinders with domed pistons will wake up a GPU. If you have an adjustable prop great if not you will likely need more prop. 0470 angle valve jugs will fit on your block. 0520 angle valve jugs require boring the block. Pistons change, push rod tubes change valve covers change rocker...

The “guts” of the lifter can be replaced without splitting the case ( read that as complete disassembly ) as John said compress the lifter to pull the keeper... then a wet with oil push rod will grab the lifter assy for removal. Remember for the future the lifter will fall apart if you disassemble t...

My 2 cents worth is do the Polly. I have had both. Yes you can tilt it back ..... yes Polly adds weight. Reality is Polly lasts for years.... it helps to eliminate dents and spreads hard spots over a larger area. ... like when you hit rocks. Without poly you always hold back from running areas cause...
