Re: Blasting and Painting the hull

James... Go to Autozone and in their paint section they have a stripper in a pinkish/blue 1 gallon jug that I think is called aircraft stripper. It works great. get a paint brush and apply then pressure wash the old paint off. Don't get on your hands or eyes it burns like fire. Good luck... Let us k...

Re: Need some feed back and don't be shy

I have recently installed one on a customers boat, although not as elaborate as the one you are asking about, it seems to be working fine and doing what he wanted. Should work great.

Good Times in the marsh today

We had a good run with good folks today. Started out the day heading to the duckblind to get ready for the season, but some minor mechanical issues held that up, but some quick parts delivery from a cute blonde driving a white Nissan and we were back up and running. Got a full belly with some good B...

Re: old screw holes

When we re-poly a bottom we just line the sheet up and drill up through the existing holes. If you tackle welding up all of the holes you had better pack your lunch, that's a big job. The only holes that I weld up are the holes in the bulkhead area of the bow and that is so I do not have to drill in...

Oil Leaking from carb Lycoming 0320

I pulled my boat out of the barn to take a little run and noticed a small puddle of oil that appeared to have leaked from the carb. Maybe a leak in one of the intake tubes in the sump??? Any ideas of why? Engine is an 0320 Lycoming. Thanks!!

This is a good topic for me also as I am going to re-build a 454 and would like to use retro fit roller lifters. There are lots of choices with lots of price differences in the retro fit lifters. Does anyone have a recommendation on specific brand or type of retro fit roller lifters for a BBC. Havin...

Re: 8 cylinder aircraft

Come to Baytown and you can see one. It is a 8 cyl gpu conversion with GITSU cylinders build by JC Stanley. JC estimates it to make 450hp can't say for sure but it is bad to the bone.

Re: Expected Performance

This boat belongs to a good friend. He has had the boat for a little more than a year. It had a 78" X 54-56 wood prop, he could run on the ground when he had some momentum but would not take off from a dead stop. He has torn the boat down to re-polymer the bottom and he has followed the recommendati...
