Sad news indeed. First met Charles at Holliday Park when we went to get Bravo Tim, who was stuck out there. Great guy and bad to the bone.
Condolences to his loved ones.

I used to race them back in the late 80's & early 90's. I had a Scat with a Rotax 503. Raced in FL, Ohio & Indiana. Was a member of the HCOA. They are cool machines.
Have a great ride.

Good seeing you again, Tim. Good ride yesterday doing the Poker Run. I'm always a contributor to the pot...never win. I didn't even turn in my hands. On the other hand, Ish was sure drawing them Aces. The food was excellent. We'll hook up during the week.

Going out of the 40 mile bend tomorrow. Should be a nice day with plenty of water. Bundle up, though. Gonna be crisp.

Re: 400 sbc build

Stud the block to clamp down the heads tight. The 400 has narrow deck surfaces between the bores. If you're running higher compression and turning it up, the heads have to be on there tight.

Re: AAOF Fish Fry

Hey, can you put in on the Trail instead of 75 and trailer to the club and ride? I know it's a bit further to tow but it will be a good time and Poker Run. There is also a Concealed Weapons course at 10:30, if you know of anyone who might need it.

Scott. This is on the south side of the Trail, across from area 3B, east of the L67. You'd have to ride to one of the Trail ramps and get picked up.

Hey Russ. Saw your videos. Your Ecotec boat is unstoppable. Impressive thrust. My tired O-470 would have cooked if I ran it hard like that.
Makes me want to start looking and planing a repower project.

Yea man, Rich. Them boys run 'em hard compared to us down in the Glades riding the easy wet trails. Water, what water. They run dry all the time. Dusty's boat was parked under a big 'ol Oak tree surrounded by Palmetto when we shot that piggy. We jumped a few does, didn't see any bucks. But he sure r...

Got a report yesterday. New FWC officers getting trained at the 40 mile ramp. I'm sure they're looking for opportunities to "teach" them how to write up tickets and do checks.

Re: 0470GPU Prop Rotation question

The Whispertip is a pretty wide airfoil compared to some other popular props. It has a great bite down low and pushes like a tractor. Good static push. It doesn't spool up as fast as a lighter prop. It does have a bit more drag at high speed than a narrower prop. I run mine at 2850. It's a good all-...

Good job steering them in the right direction and hooking them up with Diamondback. The right equipment is crucial. The training will be of great benefit in their safety and rescue operations.
What are their conditions like? Marsh, swift water, canal system, lakes, ?
Kudos George.
