Re: DD Caddy Build

As far as quick slick vs poly on a properly built DD caddy. I've had both. On grass the slick bottom was nice , however on sand and rough shit the poly was better. The performance difference was minimal. If your boat is set up correctly and your engine is strong you'll see very lil difference.

Re: Cadillac Edelbrock Intake Modification

The real direct drive test is will the Edelbrock modified divider give any gain in engine power over a stock intake or is this just a weight savings. I have one done up now just trying to find the time to swap out and see. With the correct cam , the 2115 welded up with a 1"divided spacer is a HUGE ...

Re: How do I know if I have 472 or 500 Caddy? I have a coola

Had a friend that pull a caddy from a car put on the boat and ran like crap We found out it had pistons for the 76cc heads but had 1 76cc and 1 120cc head. corect compression on 1 side and and very little compression on the 120 side. I would take the time to verify all the parts. I pulled a 500 fro...

Re: How do I know if I have 472 or 500 Caddy? I have a coola

I don't get on here as often as I'd like. So here's my advice. Listen to deano !!! He will not tell you anything that isn't true. And he will not assume to know anything he doesn't. If there is something he is unsure of he has the resources to find out. So again. Listen to his advice !

That one is def too long ! I run a 6". I also don't like the bolts that are being used to fasten it to the crank, especially with no washers !

P.S. I will not be running this class for at least the 1st half of the year and if I ever do, it will be with our DD project! In other word I doubt I will ever bee competitive in it because I dont see how a car motor boat with out a gearbox can ever out run a carmotor boat with a gearbox. :lo...

Re: '73 Caddy 500 parts

Sounds good to me. This swap has been done many times. That's a good year piston/ head combo for your intended use. I perfer using mts for parts regardless of them possibly being a few bucks cheaper at falcon or eBay simply because the customer service with marty is second to NONE! And it's great to...

That's good. You should gain a lil on the water. It must have been hurricane winds to drop you 3-400 rpm
