What fuel delivery system are you running? obviously not a self learning one if it is not performing at higher rpms?

Re: Prop VS Motor: Airgator, LS2 6.0, Sensenich NEED ADVICE

Agreed with all the above posts. Either something is wrong in the cam or possibly something is hurt in the motor. It should spin that sucker a lot harder than what it is. I would get some live data from the motor if you can..

I think I'm going to order the Fitech kit for my LS2 soon. Just debating which kit to order. Do you guys run the "Go EFI" kit or the "Ultimate" kit with a new intake manifold?

Re: 18x8 with 450Hp LS3

I have a 16x8 Utah style hull with a Waterthunder 550hp motor on it and it does surprisingly well. I go pretty much anywhere I want within reason. I don't think youll be running dry with 2-4 guys in a 16x8 with only 450.. but it might work well for what you want to do with it. just depends on your n...

Re: HELP! Belt Drive Knocking Noise

Can you wiggle your prop by hand, see if it has any side to side or wiggle in it? Maybe your prop is out of balance? I would check all the bolts on your prop first. Did you lock tite all the bolts on the flex plate and drive plate?

Re: Water Walker vs sensenich

I read some thrust testing studies years ago that said the Sensenich R blade was the most efficient prop at producing thrust. Plus, I like the design of the blade a little better than other manufactures designs. I would own a whirlwind prop in a heartbeat also just because of their customer service ...

Re: Engine help on a 16X8

I have a 550hp Waterthunder Ls2 on my 16x8 Utah style airboat and it does very well. I run a CH3 2.3 and 3 blade R series. I could run it a little higher rpm than I do, but I keep it around 5K max to keep my cruise rpm down and it does everything I could want.

Re: What to power my new boat with

I have an LS motor on my Utah style airboat and it is incredible. I personally think they are the best motors available for airboating considering the power to weight ratio. But, like Rich says, its hard to beat a good 383 stroker motor also.

Re: Ugh! Box dilemma! Help me chose!

How high do you want to rev your motor to get maximum rpm out of your prop? With that prop, motor and hull combo I would go with the 2.88 and let it rev higher, if the valve train can handle it.

Extremely disappointed in blue poly

Anyone else have any issues with the "blue iron" poly wearing out WAY to fast? My boats poly was done about 10 years ago, which seems like I got a fair amount of life out of it, until you realize that we only use our airboats during duck season (October, Novermber, December and half way th...

Re: Unloading airboat

When everything freezes up around here, we have a pull off pole we hook up to and drag it off our trailers onto the ice and snow. Then we can slide right out to the open water of the great salt lake. Getting back on the trailer can be challenging but we also built a ramp on dry land, as long as it i...

Las vegas huh? Not to far from us here in Utah. Where do you airboat around vegas? I would recommend an LS platform. that's what I run on my boat and I think its the best motor for the job. I have the LS2 6.0 in my boat and it runs great. Going to go fuel injected this next summer. best of luck!

Verify the spacers are correct. If not, they could be bending the drive plate causing your cracking issues.

Re: Ch3 torque spec help?!

Sounds like the bolts were seized up. Were they stainless? 35lbs is right don't over do it. The jw wheels are way stronger and not a bad investment. Did the two plates fit with out bending? as far as I could tell nothing was bending. there was spacers in between the flywheel and the flexplate when ...

Re: Ch3 torque spec help?!

I read that too but I thought that couldn't be right considering it took 3 large men with 3 foot breaker bars just to break each bolt loose. I initially got in here thinking my OEM flywheel had gone bad and was replacing it with a JW wheel. but after getting in I found nothing wrong with my flywheel...

Ch3 torque spec help?!

I am in the middle of finding a clunking noise near My flywheel. I got the prop and reduction off and found a massive crack in the century plate that mounts to the flex plate. Anywho. Taking off the plate was a PITA and I’m wondering what the torque of those 6 bolts should be? Can anyone help me wit...

Another vote for big block power. as much as you can afford, especially if you are making a living with the boat, so you will never have 2nd thoughts about "should I have gone bigger"... I have a waterthunder LS on my 16 foot Utah style boat and it pushes it wonderfully but I think a 20 fo...

Re: Cost of polymer install

I did mine myself. It was a fair amount of work. You can expect to spend 1500ish on materials. and probably another 1500 in labor if you hire someone to do it. If you have a lift to take the motor, cage and rigging off and are able to flip the boat upside down then it wouldn't be to bad of it a job.
