Re: B207R Ecotec 2.0 Turbo, Looking for help with ECM

It's amazing to me the variety of EMC's being used on the ecotecs. I really haven't had time to research which would be my best bet for my engine so I'm just going to throw this out there; Is there anybody around central Florida, (I'm in St Cloud), that can and will be be willing to set me up with, ...

FISHSTICKER, I didn't mean to hijack your thread, I just read what Billcollecter wrote wanted to see if a LE5 might be something I could use.

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

Skinny... if you need an Ecotec breakdown here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Ecotec_engine Basically a 2.4 NA that tops out about 190-200HP... I make that with the 1.4L Turbo... Best bang for the buck is a LHU or newer LTG - 2.0L Turbo, but I looked at doing a new boat and just doesnt make since...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

We have been using Rotator gear reductions with adapter plates lately because ballistic has fallen off the face of the earth. I would no sooner fly to the moon than use Alpha Fab (AFI) for anything. Worst company I have ever dealt with. I wish one of the gearbox mfg's would build a bolt on box for ...

Re: B207R Ecotec 2.0 Turbo, Looking for help with ECM

Thanks for the input Ryan, that sounds like a good way to go. Couple issues though before I can make it happen. First would be if my tired old brain can grasp putting it together and second would be cost. I had a lightning strike here at the house and it took out my well pump, phone and computer in ...

Russ, Thanks for the reply. Have you ever heard of Microsquirt? :rebel: :florida: :old_glory: Yes, been around for ages. Megasquirt / Micro squirt are all from same group. Likely you can use since your engine is EFI. Just won't come with a harness. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they h...

B207R Ecotec 2.0 Turbo, Looking for help with ECM

Happy 4th everyone :salute: Recently purchased this engine for possibly replacing my ecotec 2.2. LAP, (155 HP non-turbo). The B207R, (turbo), is out of a '05 saab and rated at 210 HP. stock. It was also used in the '06- '10 Cadillac BLS. It also has a lot in common with the 2.0 LSJ, (sodium valves e...

Re: Chuck. James Rackley

Prototype, Not sure what your point is here and really don't want to know. What I do know is when I needed help setting up a ecotec airboat, Chuck was very helpful even though I didn't buy anything from him. That says a lot about what kind of person he was. If you've never been in a situation where ...

Re: The Game Changer

Hi diggin, It's always good to see new innovation. I remember a while back where Waterthunder was working on a thrust bearing for a direct drive. With 1100 lbs. of thrust it sounds like he figured it out. Does that engine have thrust bearing on it?

A couple more motors on that thing and he'll need a water brake! :toothy7: Seriously though it's just a matter of time before we see a upgraded version of one here. Re: ECOTEC FUEL PUMP CHANGEOVER QUESTION

Good morning FISHSTICKER, Yes I've had it out several times for testing on the lake here at home and have made two trips down to Old Glory. Didn't want to post the results until I had a few hours on it to test reliability. Glad to report it is working flawlessly NOW, and the boat performs very well....
