Thanks to Jurnigan engines

I was need of a 90 degree tach reverser for my super charged Lycoming. Called around, after checking my old standbys, tried Jurnigan yesterday afternoon. They were very pleasant and helpful, had what I needed. Shipped out yesterday, came to my door in less than 24 hrs. Good folks to do business with...

Re: Sunk Airboat

Which Continental motor is it? If it's true aircraft, then it should be worth rebuilding. Yes, it will very likely have sand, mud in the case. It will need to be tore down, cleaned and put back together. For a real aircraft mechanic to do it, $2,000.00 seems reasonable, but if it's a shade tree that...

Re: Gso 480 newbie questions

Welcome, how many quarts of oil does sump hold, have a good oil cooler, it it in a good position, clean? The supercharged motors have tremendous power but high head temps will kill it, burn pistons. I don't run for miles dry with mine in summer heat. I put a nitrous plate under my 750 carb, fuel only...

Yes, it can be alarming if not used to it. When you really stretch them out you run completely out of steering. Only want to try it in wide, open places. But after you do it a number of times it can be quite an adrenaline rush.

Beautiful boat, the front single seat suspension is very innovative. Will be interesting to see how it holds up being cantilevered out like that. Anymore specifics on it....length, hp, etc?

Re: Why am I losing control in Shallow Water?

You are doing it right, after a while it will all become second nature to you. Don't know if you drink, but leave the cold beverages alone till you are real comfortable. It won't be long till you are a pro.......Mark (been at it for close to 40 years).

Water has been better for last few months than years past, better hurry though, won't be long before they send it all down river for the d... sugar farmers. We need to get the politicians out of bed with the farmers. Need to quit subsidizing them, take back the glades. I would not care if the price ...

Re: Story Behind the Yacht Club

Not sure who the club was, but as I remember it was built by folks whom were not airboaters, I think they had outboards, inboards etc. It had a really nice dock going pretty far out into the lake. There were a few airboats back in the day that got their hull tore up on a horseshoe pit stake. Just do...

Re: Reflecting on Maiden Voyage

In short yes, the oil it pushes out will slide back down hose. I always put a piece of heavy, large hole scree over end. Mud dobbers love to built their nests in the end of hose. If they build one and you don't see it the oil will "melt" the nest and then the sand and mud will run back down into you...
