Re: Reflecting on Maiden Voyage

In short yes, the oil it pushes out will slide back down hose. I always put a piece of heavy, large hole scree over end. Mud dobbers love to built their nests in the end of hose. If they build one and you don't see it the oil will "melt" the nest and then the sand and mud will run back dow...

Re: Reflecting on Maiden Voyage

You will get the hang of it, just go easy for awhile. In picture you are pointing at where oil is coming out? If so it needs a piece of heater hose on it strapped on the cage to the top and then horizontal to very back. Make double sure it is very well secured, if it comes loose it can go in prop an...

Re: Chuck. James Rackley

So sorry to hear this. Chuck made a brave and gallant fight against cancer only to be brought down by a car wreck? He will certainly be missed, especially by his Grandchildren who had a very special place in his heart. He was an innovator in the airboat world, mentored by the late, great Dick Hoffma...

Re: looking at a Igso480

I have a IGSO minus the gear drive, they suck some fuel but are a tractor. Never, I mean never have to get off and push and pull. I got to old and lazy for that. Take care of the engine, don't let the CHT get to hot and they will last you. You get back on green/dry and run for miles you will burn it...

Re: PHANTOM STARTS

Had the starter engage while running in my flat bottom V-Drive, short between hot and wire to solenoid , somewhere in harness. Broke a few teeth off flywheel. Ran new starter wire with a secondary push button switch. Now I turn key with one hand and push button for starter with other. It's hard on p...

A pre-lube system goes a long way in any motor/engine that is not run regularly. Mark

Re: Minimum size boat for gator hunting

13 ft. ,high side should be good. Guess it depends on what size gator you're after (or get). I would not want to have anything smaller with a 6 cylinder for a hunt boat.

Re: Ripped off in inverness florida

Nothing much worse than a thief. Everyone involved TRY to reverse the scam on him, make him chase his tail in circles. Make him offers on his junk, then cancel your order. Offer him a smoking deal on some parts then back out. Drive him nuts!
